Trump Claims “Spies” In Campaign Make His Treason Look Like Small Potatoes

Trump went off on a rant about the spies in his campaign and claimed that if his campaign was spied on it would make all other political events look small potatoes.

Video:

Trump said, “As you know, the Congress would like to see documents opened up. A lot of people are saying they had spies in my campaign. If they had spies in my campaign that would be a disgrace for this country. That would be one of the biggest insults that anyone’s ever seen and it would be very illegal, aside from everything else. It would make probably every political event ever look like small potatoes. So we want to make sure that there weren’t. I hope there weren’t, frankly. But some man got paid, based on what I read in the newspaper, and on what you reported, some person got paid a lot of money. That’s not a normal situation. The kind of money you’re talking about. So hopefully that would be — and I think the Department of Justice wants to get down to it. I can tell you congress does. So hopefully they’ll all be able to get together. General Kelly’s going to be sitting up a meeting between Congress and the various representatives and they’ll be able to open up documents, take a look and find out what happened. But if they had spies in my campaign, during my campaign for political purposes, that would be unprecedented in the history of our country.”

There were no government spies in the Trump campaign

The government was not spying on Trump’s campaign. There were no government spies spying on Trump for political purposes. What Trump always leaves out of his government spies conspiracy is that the only reason the government was interested in his campaign was that was a whole bunch of people working for Trump who were breaking the law. This was an effort by Trump to make his crimes, the crimes of his campaign, administration, and family members look small by comparison. Trump is still looking for that competing scandal that he can use to distract the country away from his problems, but there was no government spying on Trump for political purposes. There is an investigation into a corrupt campaign that has been shown to have broken the law.

Big crimes can’t be disguised as “small potatoes.”
