Trump Twitter Tirade Accuses Democrats of Rooting Against Him

President Donald Trump was in rare Twitter form on Friday morning as he launched into several unhinged attacks against Democrats, accusing the opposition party of rooting against him on North Korea.  His tweets as usual show that he is extremely sensitive to criticism and prefers to blame others for his failures and defeats.

“Democrats are so obviously rooting against us in our negotiations with North Korea. Just like they are coming to the defense of MS 13 thugs, saying that they are individuals & must be nurtured, or asking to end your big Tax Cuts & raise your taxes instead. Dems have lost touch!”

Of course, everyone knows that Trump is the master of deflecting attention away from his own shortcomings.  He failed big time on the North Korea summit, just as he has been failing on just about everything else lately.  He seemed especially upset that the briefing of the Justice Department with members of Congress showed that there was no spy implanted in his presidential campaign, as he had claimed.

The Democrats are now alluding to the the concept that having an Informant placed in an opposing party’s campaign is different than having a Spy, as illegal as that may be. But what about an “Informant” who is paid a fortune and who “sets up” way earlier than the Russian Hoax?”

As this tweet shows, his latest argument is that the FBI’s use of a confidential informant to meet with Trump advisers in England is the same thing as the FBI planting a spy in his campaign, which is ridiculous.

“Can anyone even imagine having Spies placed in a competing campaign, by the people and party in absolute power, for the sole purpose of political advantage and gain? And to think that the party in question, even with the expenditure of far more money, LOST!”

It makes one wonder whether he actually thinks anyone believes his ranting.  He used one of his favorite tricks which is to quote a commentator from a far-right publication, in this case The Federalist, which is known for its extreme views and support of all of the president’s far out positions.

“Everyone knows there was a Spy, and in fact the people who were involved in the Spying are admitting that there was a Spy…Widespread Spying involving multiple people.” Mollie Hemingway, The Federalist Senior Editor But the corrupt Mainstream Media hates this monster story!”

Needless to say, Mollie Hemingway is not an unbiased observer, and is also not an independent journalist.  When Trump and his supporters make comments like “everyone knows there was a spy” he is trying to confuse and influence the ignorant people who believe every lie that he tells.  Unfortunately, this strategy does work for many people who he considers his “base” of supporters.

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee told reporters after Thursday’s intelligence briefing, “Nothing we heard today has changed our view that there is no evidence to support any allegation that the FBI or any intelligence agency placed a spy in the Trump campaign.”  This conclusion was supported by all the Republicans and Democrats who attended the briefing.

Once again Donald Trump has gone to Twitter to try to save his pride and his presidency, and once again he has done nothing but show the world that he has a loose hold on reality and the truth.
