Mueller‘s indictment of Manafort for witness tampering should scare the daylights out of Sean Hannity.
MSNBC contributor Joyce Vace discussed Mueller sending a message:
Vance said on MSNBC‘s Deadline: White House, “It is important for a couple reasons, Nicolle. This is the first time we’ve seen Mueller put an American citizen together with someone suspected of Russian ties in the same indictment. It also shows how really brazen Manafort is and perhaps that he has not taken these charges seriously enough. He has not fully anticipated how committed Mueller‘s prosecutors are, how capable his investigators are. And I think this new indictment, as well as the motion to revoke his bond, sends a really strong signal not just to Manafort but to everyone involved in misconduct here, this prosecutorial team runs silent and runs deep. Occasionally we see the submarine surface and when it does it’s pretty lethal.”
The obstruction of justice charge was a message to Trump and his allies. The witness tampering charges are a message to Trump and Sean Hannity, who isn’t just a television host. He is a presidential advisor. Hannity told witnesses in the Mueller probe to destroy evidence on national television. Because of his relationship with Trump, there is no hypothetical to hide behind. Sean Hannity got himself in a world of trouble. If he was charged with witness tampering, Hannity could go to prison for 20 years.
Trump and his allies are fighting a PR war to save their political lives. Robert Mueller doesn’t care about PR. He is out for the truth, and for this reason, Sean Hannity should be terrified of what Robert Mueller and other investigators have or might find.
Hannity can talk all he wants, but it is Robert Mueller who is going to have the last word.
