Trump’s G7 was what Americans have come to expect from this president on the world. Just like his handshake, Trump continues to weaken the standing of the United States with the global community while doing Putin’s bidding by trying to fracture the Western alliance.
The literal gladhanding of Donald Trump is over. World leaders like Macron are not going to play this president’s silly 1980s boardroom alpha male games. If Trump’s mind, the handshake is a chance to assert dominance, and Macron dominated Trump at the G7.
