Trump Attacks Due Process and Democrats Before Begging for Help Later

When he’s not bragging about crowd sizes and his great accomplishments as president Donald Trump likes to attack Democrats and immigrants.  He was up early Thursday morning on Twitter writing about all of these things, and even took aim at the constitutional right to due process under the law.

Trump seemed very unhappy that as president he has to give due process to immigrants accused of breaking U.S. laws, and very annoyed that he is being asked to hire more federal immigration judges. He tweeted:

“We shouldn’t be hiring judges by the thousands, as our ridiculous immigration laws demand, we should be changing our laws, building the Wall, hire Border Agents and Ice and not let people come into our country based on the legal phrase they are told to say as their password.”

Our president seems oblivious to the fact that thousands of children are still being held prisoner in immigrant detention facilities even after he signed an executive order that supposedly stopped the enforcement of his policy of taking children away from their parents who are arrested for entering the country illegally.

He also seems unaware that his administration has no plan in place to provide for reuniting these parents and children.  Or maybe he just doesn’t care. All he seems to care about is attacking immigrants, the constitution and Democrats.

Of course, rather than taking responsibility for anything, Trump loves to say that other people are responsible for things that are his fault. His attack on Democrats in Congress continued on Thursday when he wrote:

“The Border has been a big mess and problem for many years. At some point Schumer and Pelosi, who are weak on Crime and Border security, will be forced to do a real deal, so easy, that solves this long time problem. Schumer used to want Border security – now he’ll take Crime!”

But Donald Trump will find that he has to do more than attack his perceived enemies.  Attacks may gain him political points with his core supporters but it will not sway the majority of American voters.

The American people want their government officials to solve the problems of our country, not make the problems worse.  Donald Trump seems to make every situation worse by attacking people who he needs to work with on compromise solutions.

He says that Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosiwill be forced to do a real deal” but the truth is it’s him and the Republicans in Congress who must put together a “real deal” that can pass both houses of Congress and be given to the president for his signature.

Once that happens then the American people will have solid proof that Donald Trump is not interested in solving problems of the country, but rather is interested only in gaining political power to further his own self interests.
