Sean Hannity Should Be Fired After Blaming Maxine Waters For Annapolis Newspaper Shooting

Fox News nutjob and Donald Trump loyalist Sean Hannity hit another new low on Thursday, immediately pinning the Annapolis newspaper shooting on – who else? – Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters.

According to the Daily Beast, Hannity made the comments “within seconds” of learning about the tragedy that unfolded in the newsroom of Capital Gazette.

SEAN HANNITY (HOST): By the way, we’re getting some breaking news that there was a shooting at the, it’s called Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis, Maryland, The Baltimore Sun is now reporting. We have multiple deaths also being reported, and the sheriff is saying that multiple fatalities in a newsroom shooting. Oh, good grief. So scary. The suspect though has been apprehended according to the sheriff. And we’ll continue to follow that story. It’s so sad that there are so many sick, demented, and evil people in this world. It really is sad. You know imagine you go to work and this is what you’re dealing with today, some crazy person comes in — and I’m not turning this into a gun debate, I know that’s where the media will be in 30 seconds from now. That’s not it. You know, as I’ve always said, I mean honestly — I’ve been saying now for days that something horrible was going to happen because of the rhetoric. Really [Rep.] Maxine [Waters]? You want people to create — “call your friends, get in their faces,” and Obama said that too. “Get in their faces, call them out, call your friends, get protesters, follow them into restaurants and shopping malls,” and wherever else she said.

Hannity’s comment was so out of line that even fellow right-winger Joe Walsh took to Twitter to slam the Fox Host, calling his comments “stupid, irresponsible, dangerous & selfish.”

Sean Hannity needs to be fired for making such a disgusting statement

The suggestion by Hannity that a sitting member of Congress is responsible for the vicious murder of five journalists in Maryland is disgusting.

Not only is it disgusting, but it willfully ignores the anti-free press rhetoric that does potentially encourage madmen to take up arms against journalists.

Say what you want about Maxine Waters’ recent comments that Democrats need to pressure members of the Trump administration via peaceful protest, but she never called the press “the enemy of the people,” as the president repeatedly has.

Sean Hannity has crossed too many lines, especially in the Trump era. Today he crossed another one, and it’s time for him to be taken off the airwaves.

And if he really is hellbent on assigning blame for violent attacks on American journalists, he should look no further than the President of the United States.
