The Blue Wave Gets Supercharged As Obama To Campaign For Democrats

Former President Obama is planning to come back into American politics and campaign for Democratic candidates in September ahead of the November midterm election.

CNBC reported, “The most high-profile member of the Democratic Party is expected to hit the campaign trail for House, Senate and gubernatorial candidates running in the midterm elections while getting guidance from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, according to three sources with direct knowledge of the matter. The timeline is fluid, but the former president is expected to start making an impact in September, according to two sources familiar with his team’s plan. One source close to Obama said his team has not decided when the former president will start campaigning or which districts he will focus on.”

Popular Obama versus toxic Trump

The contrast is striking. Barack Obama is going to get a hero’s welcome in swing states and district this fall, while Donald Trump is so toxic that Republicans don’t want him anywhere near a competitive election. Instead, the GOP is planning on continuing to have Trump hold rallies in red states where he is popular that have Democratic Senators. Trump will raise a boatload of money, but given that this is Donald Trump that we are talking about, it will be interesting to see how much of that money actually goes to candidates and efforts to help Republicans keep control of the House and Senate.

The surging blue wave is about to get even bigger

The Obama Democrats are the dominant constituency in the Democratic Party. Obama voters will turn out in huge numbers to see their beloved former president. If Democratic voters weren’t fired up and ready to go yet, Barack Obama is coming to add even more momentum to the looming blue wave.
