The Trump White House is using their official Twitter account to make false accusations and harass Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA).
The OFFICIAL White House account tweeted:
.@SenKamalaHarris, why are you supporting the animals of MS-13? You must not know what ICE really does. Here is a link to help you out: https://t.co/kcrNj4aVMU

Sen. Harris does not support MS-13 or abolishing ICE
Here is what Sen. Harris told MSNBC when asked about her position on ICE, “I think there’s no question that we’ve got to critically re-examine ICE and its role and the way that it is being administered and the work it is doing. And we need to probably think about starting from scratch.”
There is a big difference between saying that ICE needs to be reexamined, and supporting MS-13.
Trump is using the official White House Twitter account for campaign activities
The tweet at Sen. Harris was not about policy. Harris is considering running for president against Donald Trump in 2020. What the White House wasn’t a fact, but a campaign attack ad. Trump is using official White House resources illegally for his 2020 reelection campaign. Sen. Harris doesn’t support MS-13, but Trump is using taxpayer-funded resources to lob attacks at people who might be running against him in two years. This is illegal.
Trump is worried about 2020, and he is obviously afraid of Sen. Harris, but the illegal conduct of this administration must be called out. Presidents can’t use White House resources to smear potential opponents. It is illegal, and the American people need to elect a Democratic Congress so that lawless Trump will be held accountable.
