There were so many people protesting Trump that he refused to go to London, but Trump has turned this around to claim that many, many, people were protesting for him.
In an ITV interview with Piers Morgan, Trump claimed, “Some of them are protesting in my favor, you know that?’ Trump insisted. ‘There are many, many protests in my favor.”
An estimated 250,000 people took to the streets and protested Trump in London.
His claim that there were many protests in his favor contradicts what Trump told The Sun, “I used to love London as a city. I haven’t been there in a long time. But when they make you feel unwelcome, why would I stay there?”
If there were so many protests in Trump’s favor, why would he refuse to go there? Why would he feel unwelcome?
The number of people who protested for Trump is virtually non-existent in comparison to the number who took to the streets in opposition to him, but this is how Donald Trump operates. He is waging constant war with the reality that people see with their own eyes.
There were not huge protests for Trump, but this is how the weak, frail, and ego-driven president gets through the day. Donald Trump lives in a false reality where he can negotiate imaginary nuclear deals with North Korea while the North Koreans accelerate their nuclear program.
Trump ability to reject reality can lead to absurd claims, but it is also how children get ripped away from their parents at the border, Muslims get banned based on their religion, and how neo-Nazis become “good people on both sides.”
Trump is dangerous because the same delusions that fuel his ego also nominate Supreme Court justices and make public policy.
