Avenatti Slams Dershowitz: You Don’t Know What You’re Talking About

CNN host Anderson Cooper was asking for trouble when he asked two feisty lawyers onto his show at the same time last night.  In a “stormy” interview with Stormy Daniel’s attorney Michael Avenatti and Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz Cooper struggled to keep the discussion under control. Both lawyers made it appear that their main goal was to insult the other one as much as possible.

“You just make it up as you go along… you need to go back and concentrate on what invites you get at Martha’s Vineyard, since that appears to be what you are really good at.” @MichaelAvenatti jabs at @AlanDersh in a contentious on-air exchange”

Dershowitz questioned the truthfulness and validity of the content of the audio recording federal investigators obtained from former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen. Then Avenatti jumped on Dershowitz for giving his unsolicited views on the subject, which is inappropriate since he is not part of either legal team involved in the case.

Avenatti said:

“Alan, you really need to start talking only about things that you know about, as opposed to things that you have no knowledge about. You have no knowledge of the communications that went on between me and Michael Cohen’s representatives long before that — long before that — no, you don’t know what you’re talk about, Alan.”

“You have no idea about the communications that went on relating to a particular or proposed level of communication. You need to go back — let me finish.”

Dershowitz tried to interrupt but the Cooper interjected and said, “Let him finish.”

Then Avenatti added:

“You need to go back and concentrate on what invites you’re getting on Martha’s Vineyard since that appears to be what you’re really good at.”

At the end of the segment Avenatti said he believed — as do many other people — that Dershowitz is actually working for Trump, and they have some type of financial relationship.

“Yeah, it’s a complete coincidence that @AlanDersh defends Mr. Trump at every turn and then Mr. Trump endorses his book. Alan should have held out for more – he sold out cheap.”

“I want to know about the relationship between you and Donald Trump. I think you ought to disclose the extent of the relationship,” Avenatti said to the Harvard lawyer.

Dershowitz responded by saying:

“I’ve met him three times in my life. all three times dealing with the Middle East. I have no relationship with him. But I  have to tell you, I do know legal ethics.”

Once again Michael Avenatti has shown the world that he will not back down from Donald Trump or any of his supporters or surrogates. Alan Dershowitz is a brilliant lawyer and professor but he has made many ridiculous comments about our current president, showing that his loyalty to Trump has clouded his judgment and his reasoning ability.

The United States needs strong public advocates like Michael Avenatti who will fight for the truth and stand up for the American people against the dark forces that would take away our democracy.
