Virginia GOP Senate Candidate Admits It Wouldn’t Matter If Trump Is On Tape Saying The N-Word

Virginia GOP Senate Corey Stewart admitted on Saturday that it wouldn’t matter if Donald Trump is on tape saying the N-word, and he blamed the media for pushing the narrative that the president is a racist.

After saying the tape, even if it exists, is a non-issue, Stewart tore into Trump’s talking points about immigration and NFL players kneeling during the national anthem.

Stewart said:

The truth is, there’s no evidence at all that it exists. Even if it existed, the fact is — or didn’t exist — the fact is, you’ve already proclaimed him, you and the rest of the press have already proclaimed him a racist. If he wants to secure the border, it’s about race. If he wants to ensure that our NFL players are respecting our country, it’s about race. If he wants to cut taxes, it’s about race.  Everything, according to the left-wing media, is always about race. You’ve already claimed him to be a racist no matter what he does.

GOP already pivoting to defend Trump if a tape does surface

While Corey Stewart claims the tape doesn’t exist, his comments suggest that Republican candidates are already working on a blame-the-media pivot if the tape does come to light.

While it’s true that America doesn’t need an N-word tape to confirm the racism that Trump has spent years demonstrating, it’s shocking to hear a Senate candidate essentially suggest that the release of such a tape would be inconsequential – because, of course, the media.

All of this goes to show just how far off the deep end Republicans have gone in order to defend this president. Instead of unequivocally saying it would be unacceptable for Trump to use racial slurs, they pivot to his defense and attack journalists.

Republicans turned their collective head when Trump was caught on tape bragging about sexual assault, and now it appears they are preparing to do the same thing if the president is captured using the N-word.
