Michael Avenatti To Trump: The American People Will Take Down Your ‘Illegitimate’ Presidency

The lawyer for Stormy Daniels who has been front and center in the ongoing Michael Cohen legal saga had a message for Donald Trump on Saturday morning: The American people will ultimately be the jury that brings his corrupt presidency down.

Michael Avenatti told MSNBC’s AM Joy that he will continue to fight to expose all the evidence related to Trump’s crimes so voters can hold the “illegitimate president” accountable once and for all.

“I have a message for Donald Trump this morning,” Avenatti said. “We are going to work morning, noon and night to make sure that he is held accountable. ”

Avenatti said:

I absolutely believe that this conduct makes Donald Trump’s election in the White House illegitimate. Donald Trump and others around him believe that he is above the law, that he cannot be held accountable. Well, I have a message for Donald Trump this morning. We are going to work morning, noon and night to make sure that he is held accountable. We are going to acquire the evidence and the facts. We’re going to present that to the American public. They’re going be the jury, Joy, that will ultimately decide what happens to Donald Trump. And here’s another thing that I want to add this morning. I am highly confident that in the coming weeks we are going to negotiate a resolution with Michael Cohen relating to the civil litigation, the multiple cases that we have with him. And I’m highly confident that, ultimately, he’s going to cooperate with me in connection with our attempts to get to the truth and to bring Donald Trump to justice.

“Buckle Up Buttercup”

There is no question that the past week has been an absolute legal disaster for Donald Trump. The wheels of justice have gone into overdrive and Trump’s former allies are now rushing to expose him.

As it was reported on Thursday, a safe at The National Enquirer contained damning information and documents related to Trump and Cohen’s illegal payments to silence women during the election. At the same time, National Enquirer chief David Pecker has been granted immunity by federal prosecutors.

PoliticusUSA’s Jason Easley noted, “If those documents still exist, the odds are good that prosecutors have them as part of their immunity deal with Pecker.”

In other words, this isn’t anywhere near over. While some of this week’s revelations – particularly the Cohen guilty pleas implicating Trump in a felony – have been absolute bombshells, the coming weeks will only bring more of them.

As Michael Avenatti recently told Rudy Giuliani recently, “Buckle Up Buttercup.” This is about to get much worse for the president of the United States.
