Rachel Maddow has remained the number one show on cable television as her network MSNBC is dominating in the ratings.
Here are the numbers as provided in a statement by MSNBC to PoliticusUSA:
On Friday, August 24, for the fourth night in a row, MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” was the #1 most-watched program across all cable TV, according to Nielsen data. “Maddow” also won 9 pm in cable news across the board, beating FOX News and CNN in both A25-54 and total viewers. For reference, “Maddow” was the #1 cable program in total viewers for the entire week of August 20th.

A total of five MSNBC programs ranked in the Top 10 in total viewers across all cable:
· “Maddow” #1
· “The Last Word” #4
· “All In with Chris Hayes” #6
· “The 11th Hour with Brian Williams” #7
· “Hardball with Chris Matthews” #8
“MSNBC Live with Velshi and Ruhle” at 11 am, “MSNBC Live with Ali Velshi” at 3 pm, “Maddow” at 9 pm, and “The 11th Hour with Brian Williams” at 11 pm were all #1 in total viewers for their hours, beating FOX News and CNN. “MSNBC Live with Katy Tur” at 2 pm, “Deadline: White House” at 4 pm, “Hardball with Chris Matthews” at 7 pm, and “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” at 10 pm were all also #1 in total viewers for their respective hours.
Of the top ten programs on all of cable television on Friday night, nine of them were political, and six of them were programs that are critical of the Trump administration.
Here is the chart:
Five of the shows on MSNBC, plus HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher equaled 60% of the most popular programs on cable television appealed to the anti-Trump forces in the US. The American people appear to be gearing up to deliver a massive rejection to Trump and the Republican Party. If MSNBC and Rachel Maddow‘s dominance is a signal of what is to come, Trump and the Republicans should be very afraid.
