Yard signs for Democratic Senate candidate Rep. Beto O’Rourke were set on fire in a Dallas neighborhood as dangerous GOP behavior is escalating ahead of the midterm election.
The Dallas Morning News reported:
Five yard signs for Democratic candidates were set on fire in a Richardson neighborhood Monday night, officials said.
Police received three calls in a 30-minute span — one at 11 p.m., another at 11:06 and the third at 11:28 — reporting that yard signs for Beto O’Rourke and Colin Allred had been lit on fire in the Arapaho Heights neighborhood west of Heights Park, Sgt. Kevin Perlich said

Chris Terry and her wife were reading Monday night when their dog, Jack, started barking. Then, the doorbell rang: A man from the Fire Department was at the door to let them know their O’Rourke and Allred yard signs had been set ablaze, along with a handful of others nearby.
Potentially burning houses down and harming people because of a campaign sign on their law is not a political act. It is a threatening act of intimidation and violence. Republicans are following the lead of their president. They are worried about losing the midterm election, so all of the rage that Trump, conservative media and Republican politicians have spent years building is coming out in threatening or violent acts toward Democrats.
There is currently a bomber on the loose who is targeting outspoken critics of Donald Trump and Democratic leaders.
Trump and the Republicans tried to label Democrats who are peacefully using their right to protest as angry mobs, but the real angry mob is the people who are sending bombs and setting fires. Starting a fire on someone’s lawn is not a form of political expression. It’s a criminal act that damages property and could kill someone.
The Republicans are out of control because they can’t handle the reality that they are about to lose a midterm election.
Donald Trump hasn’t just damaged democracy. He has also broken down American society.
