Republicans Lose As Florida Drops Voter Fraud Investigation

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has ended the voter fraud investigation requested by Gov. Rick Scott because they couldn’t find any voter fraud.

Politico reported:

After the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Thursday night it would investigate two local election officials at the request of Gov. Rick Scott, the agency now says that because no voter fraud allegations were made, it is no longer pursuing an investigation.

“What changed is that this morning we spoke with the Department of State and they indicated they had no criminal allegations of fraud,†FDLE spokesperson Gretl Plessinger told POLITICO in an email. “So, after speaking to them, we offered our assistance in the event any criminal allegations are identified.â€

Florida Law Enforcement Can’t Investigate Voter Fraud Because Republicans Made It Up

Law enforcement concluded that they couldn’t investigate voter fraud in the Florida election, because there were no actual legal allegations of voter fraud. Sen. Marco Rubio, Gov. Rick Scott, and President Donald Trump made up the voter fraud as part of an effort to stop the counting of votes while their party is ahead in both of the elections for Senate and governor.

Democrats have vowed not to allow Scott to abuse his power, even though Trump has already abused his power by sending attorneys to Florida.

The Republican ploy oozes of desperation. They need to make sure that those votes in Democratic counties are not counted because if they are Democrats could win two vital elections in the Sunshine State. A win by Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum would be a game changer as it would put an end to the voter suppression in the state, and place Florida back in play for 2020. In the longer term, a Democratic governor could also end gerrymandering when the congressional districts are redrawn after the 2020 census.

The ending of the investigation was a big loss for Republicans, as their voter fraud conspiracy crashed a burned a little more than 24 hours after it was launched.

It’s time to count the votes and face the consequences.
