Trump claimed that people need to show ID to buy a box of cereal, thus proving that the President has no idea how people buy their groceries.
In an interview with The Daily Caller, Trump said, “If you buy a box of cereal — you have a voter ID. They try to shame everybody by calling them racist, or calling them something, anything they can think of, when you say you want voter ID. But voter ID is a very important thing.”
No, no, no, and no.
This is not how grocery shopping works.
Never in the history of the United States has someone been stopped at the supermarket and forced to show ID before they were allowed to buy Cheerios or Fruity Pebbles. That is not how any of this works.
Trump is so out of touch with regular people that he doesn’t understand how they get their food
It is impossible for a president to empathize, much less act on the concerns of ordinary people when he has no idea how they live. Someone needs to ask Trump if he has ever shopped in a grocery store in his life. Remember, this president was born rich and has never had to spend a day driving himself to work, putting gas in the car, or going grocery shopping. It is very possible that Donald Trump has never cooked his own meals.
I can’t let you have those Doritos without ID is a phrase that has never been uttered in the history of grocery shopping.
Trump has no clue how the rest of us live, and what’s even worse is that he doesn’t care.
