Democrat Stacey Abrams ended her challenge to the Georgia governor but signaled that the battle against voter suppression has just begun by filing a new lawsuit.
The AP reported:
Democrat Stacey Abrams says she will file a federal lawsuit to challenge the “gross mismanagement†of Georgia elections.
Abrams made the comments in a Friday speech, shortly after she said she can’t win the race, effectively ending her challenge to Republican Brian Kemp.
She said: “In the coming days, we will be filing a major federal lawsuit against the state of Georgia for the gross mismanagement of this election and to protect future elections.â€

Stacey Abrams Is Still Fighting For Voter Rights
Stacey Abrams ran one of the best campaigns in the country, and she almost won in one of the worst states for voter suppression in the nation. Stacey Abrams is going to change Georgia and I would other Democrats to take her movement national. The key to winning elections and bringing truly representative government isn’t message and money. In many states, it is making sure that all voices are heard and votes are counted.
The campaign is over in Georgia, but the battle has just started.
Voter suppression is an undemocratic perversion of the electoral system. It is the tyranny of the minority over the majority. Change is coming to Georgia and the United States, and that change will be realized when voter suppression systems are demolished and the will of the people is accurately reflected at the polls.
