Democrats should go where the evidence leads them on impeachment
Impeachment should never be used as a partisan tool, but Rep. Smith was correct. Democrats need to be investigating, asking questions, and, if the evidence justifies it, pursue impeachment. The Mueller investigation is in jeopardy from Trump interference and meddling, so it is vital that an independent investigation is done.
It is worth appreciating that as a new Congress comes into session, the first question they are being asked is about impeaching Donald Trump. This is where we are as a country. The question isn’t has the president committed crimes, but should Trump be impeached?
A national conversation must be held on impeachment, but before that conversation can take place, evidence needs to be collected, and if it justifies impeachment, that is the course that Democrats must follow.
