Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) won a stunning political victory over President Donald Trump this past week, and according to Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski the Speaker should now turn up the pressure on the president to score a complete victory and possibly end his presidency.
Trump agreed to sign a temporary funding bill Friday and end the government shutdown that he created, and the “Morning Joe” co-host said Pelosi now had no reason to negotiate with the president to fund his border wall or give him anything else he wants.
“She cannot let the pressure off him, she’s got to keep things pretty tight and be pretty tough and only let up when she’s got him cornered into a deal,” Brzezinski said.

“He has proven time and time again not to be trustworthy and to veer off into many different directions that have been destructive, that he’s not kept his word,” Brzezinski added. “I don’t think she can negotiate publicly on Twitter with him or try to get an inch. I don’t think she can, he’s not someone who plays fair.”
Brzezinski and other Morning Joe guests also pointed out that Pelosi was still in control of Trump’s postponed State of the Union address. After Trump announced his shutdown was over, Pelosi immediately came out with a statement saying that this didn’t mean he could come to the House to give his speech.
The Morning Joe panel also discussed the fact that after Trump’s friend and adviser Roger Stone was arrested, Pelosi posted tweets pointing out the president’s close connections to Russia.

Mika Brzezinski is correct: Now is the time for Nancy Pelosi to go for Donald Trump’s jugular vein. She can’t be criticized for kicking him when he’s down, because as Mika said, Trump is “not someone who plays fair.” It is time for Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats to destroy Donald Trump and his presidency.
