Trump spoke of himself in the third person as he praised his own transparency while refusing to show the public his tax returns, medical records, and grades.
The president said, “Well, the subpoena is ridiculous. We have been — I have been the most transparent president and administration in the history of our country by far. We just went through the Mueller witch hunt, where you had really 18 angry Democrats that hate President Trump. They hate him with a passion. They were contributors in many cases to Hillary Clinton. Hate him with a passion. How they picked this panel I don’t know.”
Trump Is The Least Transparent President Since Nixon
Trump has refused to release his medical records, his tax returns, his grades, and the president is refusing to comply with subpoenas related to congressional investigations. Trump has sued Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) in an effort to keep his tax returns private and has threatened legal action against any school that he went to that might release his grades. Trump has even threatened to sue his own accountants to keep his tax returns hidden.
Donald Trump is the least transparent president in decades. Trump has taken his war on transparency to such an extreme that White House no longer does daily press briefings, and many government agencies have stopped briefing the press.
Trump is the opposite of transparent. His act isn’t fooling anyone, and the fact that he would even try is a sign that he knows the sort of political danger that he is in.
