Now that Attorney General William Barr has demonstrated clearly that he is nothing more than a corrupt tool of Donald Trump, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee are working directly with special counsel Robert Mueller.
The move by Democrats comes a day after Barr’s testimony before the Senate in which he bent over backward to defend the president.
According to NBC News, “The House Judiciary Committee has started discussions directly with Mueller’s team about coming to testify before the committee. … Not just the Justice Department.”

As reported on MSNBC’s The Beat:
We just got breaking news on Mueller himself possibly testifying. The House Judiciary Committee has now started discussions directly with Mueller’s team about coming to testify before the committee. Nothing has been finalized, but this is big news right now. The committee is now in talks with Mueller’s team directly, not just the Department of Justice.
House Dems shouldn’t play ball with Trump or Barr
The negotiations over testimony related to the Mueller report and documents relevant to other ongoing investigations must end. It’s time for subpoenas to fly. It’s time for the impeachment process to be formally set in motion.
As Ronald Klain said yesterday, “The Trump administration is going to lie and stonewall until the Democrats increase the pressure.”
Instead of negotiating the White House, Democrats must work directly with Mueller – which they now appear to be doing – and enforce whatever subpoenas the issue.
I’m going to make this simple: the Trump administration is going to lie and stonewall until the Democrats increase the pressure.
Call Mueller.
Enforce subpoenas.
And unless something changes, be prepared to launch impeachment proceedings to get to the truth.

The days of William Barr acting as a middle man between Bob Mueller and the American people ended when this attorney general sold out his country in order to protect the president.
Barr is not an honest broker, just as Trump isn’t. It’s time Congress started acting accordingly.
