A contempt charge is almost certainly coming as Barr is unlikely to see the light and start doing his job by complying with a congressional investigation. The likely ending for this saga will be a court case and the DOJ being compelled to turn over the full Mueller report and the underlying evidence. Rep. Nadler is not playing games. There will be a political price paid for Trump and Barr’s obstruction.
Holding Barr in contempt will keep this story at the top of the news where it will continue to hammer Trump, Barr, and the Republican Party every single day until November 2020.
Republicans keep claiming that the story is over while doing everything imaginable to make sure that it continues. Trump and Barr are prolonging the inevitable as Democrats are going to win the battle to get Mueller’s full report, the documents, and the underlying evidence.
