Trump suffered his second loss in court this week as a judge ruled that the president can’t block a House subpoena of Deutsche Bank for his financial records.
Judge Ramos ruled:
Ramos: "These subpoenas are all in service of facially legitimate investigative purposes."
— Adam Klasfeld (@KlasfeldReports) May 22, 2019
Ramos: The court will not engage in a line-by-line review of the subpoenas' requests.
That's not the Supreme Court's standard, he noted.

Ramos rejects the notion that these subpoenas are about "exposure for the sake of exposure."
Agreeing the Committees, Ramos find that the court does not have the authority to testing the motives of committee members.
"Such is not our function," Ramos said.

Ramos: "At bottom," the Committee's ability to serve and enforce the subpoenas is "well-settled."
— Adam Klasfeld (@KlasfeldReports) May 22, 2019
Ramos: "Even if the questions were sufficiently serious, injunctive relief would be unwarranted."

Ramos notes that the plaintiffs will likely appeal and ask for a stay of his ruling, which he concludes.
Strawbridge immediately asks for a stay of his ruling.
"That request is denied," Ramos said.

The losses are coming quickly for Trump in court
Trump has already lost a suit to block a subpoena for his financial records from his accounting firm. Trump was trying to run out the clock and keep the House tied up in court, but the courts are ruling quickly. Trump’s efforts are not working. The president doesn’t have a legal leg to stand on, and the defeats are going to continue to quickly pile up on this president.
Pelosi’s strategy is working. Trump is being boxed in, and it is only a matter of time until the House has pulled every ugly criminal skeleton out of Trump’s financial records.
