Trump admitted that his deal with Mexico on immigration is that Mexico is promising to try really hard.
Trump tweeted:
Mexico will try very hard, and if they do that, this will be a very successful agreement for both the United States and Mexico!

After tweeting this admission that the deal is nothing more than a promise to do better, Trump tacked on a total lie:
MEXICO HAS AGREED TO IMMEDIATELY BEGIN BUYING LARGE QUANTITIES OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCT FROM OUR GREAT PATRIOT FARMERS!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 8, 2019
There were no tariffs on Mexico, so they were already able to buy as many agricultural products from the United States as they wanted. There was nothing stopping them. Again, there were no tariffs.
Mexico buying more agricultural products is not mentioned in the deal.
It is something that Trump made up because he is terrified that he is losing the support of farmers, which he is.
Trump admitted with his tweets that the deal is a con. He had to run away from his tariff threat, so the White House cooked up a “deal” that he could hide behind and use to claim victory.
Donald Trump has used the power of the presidency to make the United States an international joke.
Trump is embarrassing himself and every single American with his big talk and bogus deals.
