The Trump administration is refusing to publish dozens of government studies on the impact of climate change on agriculture.
Trump is hiding government-funded studies on climate change and food
A Politico investigation revealed:
The Trump administration has refused to publicize dozens of government-funded studies that carry warnings about the effects of climate change, defying a longstanding practice of touting such findings by the Agriculture Department’s acclaimed in-house scientists.
None of the studies were focused on the causes of global warming – an often politically charged issue. Rather, the research examined the wide-ranging effects of rising carbon dioxide, increasing temperatures and volatile weather.
However, a POLITICO investigation revealed a persistent pattern in which the Trump administration refused to draw attention to findings that show the potential dangers and consequences of climate change, covering dozens of separate studies. The administration’s moves flout decades of department practice of promoting its research in the spirit of educating farmers and consumers around the world, according to an analysis of USDA communications under previous administrations.
Mike Pence Got Laughed At When He Used Trump’s Talking Points On Climate Change
A perfect example of why the administration refuses to publish the climate change studies happened on CNN’s State Of The Union, where host Jake Tapper grilled Vice President Mike Pence on the question of climate change as a threat to national security. When Pence tried to claim that the US had the cleanest air and water in the world, Tapper laughed at him.
In the Trump administration, everything is about publicity. Trump doesn’t want to call any attention to his climate change denial, so the administration refuses to publish the studies and hopes that the American don’t notice the growing frequency of extreme weather events and the other signs of gradual and extremely destructive climate change.
Trump claims to be the most transparent president in history while hiding government studies and data about something as vital as food production and climate change from the American people. The Trump administration is keeping the nation’s population in the dark while destroying the environment.
Donald Trump is literally destroying the planet with his lies.
