Trump Is Now Tweeting Fake Ronald Reagan Quotes

Trump’s latest effort to make himself look more popular than what he really is involves tweeting a picture of himself with Reagan that includes a fake Ronald Reagan quote.

Trump retweets a fake Reagan quote

Trump tweeted:

The Ronald Reagan Quote About Trump Is A Lie

PolitiFact has already fact-checked the meme that Trump retweeted, and concluded, “Though there are several photos of the former president and Trump together, the meetings didn’t inspire Reagan to wax poetic about the current commander in chief. The photo being shared here is authentic and dates back to Nov. 3, 1987, said Joanne Drake, chief administrative officer of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute. The image shows then-president Reagan shaking Trump’s hand in the Blue Room at a reception for members of an art and preservation in embassies foundation. But Drake said the quote attributed to the 40th president about the would-be 45th president is inaccurate: “He did not ever say that about Donald Trump,” she said.”

Trump has been complaining non-stop for days about the “fake news” while he has retweeted a fake quote from Ronald Reagan in a desperate effort to equate himself to the still popular among Republicans former president. Trump is trying to attach himself to Reagan because he thinks that he is an even greater president than Reagan. In his mind, he is more popular than Reagan and deserves to be on Mount Rushmore.

Ronald Reagan, for all of his flaws, was a defender of America from the Russian threat. Reagan didn’t take help from the Russians to win the White House, and he would never have believed the Soviets over his own intelligence community.

Trump is sinking fast and he trying to hold on to the White House by gluing himself to Ronald Reagan, but Benedict Donald will never be Reagan.
