Trump’s Wall Of Obstruction Crumbles as Democrats Can Now Get His State Tax Returns

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) signed legislation that will allow Congress to access Donald Trump’s state tax returns. All they have to do is ask.

Congress can now get Trump’s state tax returns

Cuomo said while signing the bill that will make Trump’s tax returns available to the Chairperson of the U.S. House Ways & Means Committee, the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, or the Joint Committee on Taxation, “Tax secrecy is paramount – the exception being for bonafide investigative and law enforcement purposes. By amending the law enforcement exception in New York State tax code to include Congressional tax-related committees, this bill gives Congress the ability to fulfill its Constitutional responsibilities, strengthen our democratic system and ensure that no one is above the law.”

The Dam Is Breaking And Trump’s Secrets Are Spilling Out

The House committees will certainly ask to see Trump’s state tax returns. The state returns will not be as comprehensive as Trump’s federal returns, but they will give congressional investigators a look at Trump’s finances that the administration has stonewalled. Trump’s tax returns will answer questions about conflicts of interest if he is financially compromised by a foreign government and the role that his personal finances may have in foreign policy decisions.

The cracks are growing Trump’s wall of obstruction. There are too many ways around Trump’s stonewalling for the president to keep all of his dirty secrets hidden. The wall is crumbling as the information could be revealed to the American people during the 2020 election.
