Trump Refuses To Take Questions From Reporters After Humiliating Cave-In On Census

The president who seldom finds a reason to hide from the spotlight refused to take questions after he was forced to cave in on adding a citizenship question to the 2020 census.

In a news conference on Thursday, Donald Trump announced that he retreating on his crusade to add a citizenship question to next year’s census.

The president made the announcement alongside his lapdog attorney general, William Barr, and corrupt commerce secretary, Wilbur Ross.

After the humiliating presser, Trump left the podium with Barr and Ross and didn’t take any questions.

Today was another humiliating defeat for Trump

Make no mistake: Trump was forced to take a huge loss today by dropping his plans to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census after the Supreme Court swatted it down.

He may be trying to paper over it with his new executive order, which is just another stunt to rig elections for Republicans, but this was a major retreat for the White House.

It was only compounded by an official statement from the Justice Department:

Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer also piled on Trump, saying, “The president’s retreat on adding the misguided citizen question to the census was long overdue and is a significant victory for democracy and fair representation.”

“Every person must be counted & no one should be intimidated by the president and his capricious behavior,” he added.

Donald Trump never shies away from getting his head in front of the cameras and rambling incoherent nonanswers to reporters.

The fact that he wasn’t willing to do so today suggests that even he knows he was handed yet another humiliating defeat.
