Leaked cables from the former British ambassador reveal that Donald Trump pulled the US out of the Iran deal because it was Obama’s.
Trump Pulled Out Of Iran Deal To Hurt Obama
The Daily Mail (UK) reported:
In an explosive diplomatic cable sent to London hours after Mr. Johnson returned home, Sir Kim Darroch, Britain’s Ambassador to the US, lamented that Mr. Trump’s Administration ‘is set upon an act of diplomatic vandalism.’
In a blunt assessment, Sir Kim wrote that Mr. Trump appeared to be abandoning the Iran nuclear deal for ‘personality reasons’ –because it had been agreed by his predecessor Barack Obama.
And Sir Kim suggested there were splits among the President’s closest advisers and claimed the White House lacked a ‘day-after’ strategy on what to do after withdrawing from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the official name for the Iran deal.
Trump’s Presidency Is About Erasing Obama
Donald Trump has no policy agenda. Build the wall and deport all immigrants are not policies. Trump sees the purpose of his presidency as undoing everything that Obama accomplished. As the Iran deal cables reveal, Trump doesn’t care if what Obama did was good or bad. If Obama did it, it’s gone. It is why he is so driven to get rid of the Affordable Care Act.
Trump doesn’t care about policy. He doesn’t care if his actions harm people and make America less safe. He is only out to erase Barack Obama.
The president is finding out that he can’t erase Obama. Barack Obama remains more popular than Trump has ever been or will be. Obama is well regarded by the American people and historians. Obama is what Trump will never be.
Because he is overseeing a petty presidency about nothing, it is Donald Trump will be forgotten and easily erased, not Barack Obama.
