Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) predicted that Trump would be sent back to New York where he will face swift indictment and bankruptcy.

Eric Swalwell Says Trump Is Going To Face Indictment and Bankruptcy

Rep. Swalwell said on MSNBC’s The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, “Our own government tells its employers that send them back is something you cannot say to employees because it’s racist. That’s something our own government condemns. We will send Donald Trump back to New York whether it’s through impeachment or election. He is going to face swift indictment and probably bankruptcy. The question I have been asked the most when I was running for president is when will Republicans step up and do the right thing? Lawrence, as someone who serves with so many of these individuals, I can tell you, they are not. Donald Trump started this riot. Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy and gang are the looters and they are going to take everything. Tax cuts for the wealthy and a woman’s right to choose. A worker’s right to organize until there is nothing left to we just have to beat them.”

Rep. Swalwell was right. His crowd can engage in racist chants to get Rep. Omar sent back, but the reality is that it is Trump who is most likely to be sent back to where he came from, and when he gets there, he will face immediate indictment and bankruptcy. Republicans are never going to stand up to Trump. Swalwell’s analogy about a riot was a good one. Trump began the riot, but the Republican looters are benefitting from his behavior.

Until the looters have to pay for their crimes, they have no incentive to stop.

Impeachment won’t save the country. Beating Donald Trump is the only way.
