Q: Mr. Mueller, over here. Mr. Mueller, he did you indeed interview for the FBI director job one day before you were pointed as special counsel?

Mueller: My understanding it was not applying for the job. I was asked to give my input on what it would take to do the job, which triggered the interview you’re talking about.

Q: So you don’t recall on May 16th, 2016, that you interviewed with the president for the FBI director job?

Mueller: I interviewed about the president. It was about the job and not about me applying for the job.

Q: So your statement here today is that you didn’t interview to apply for the FBI director job?

Mueller: That’s correct.

Trump is so out of touch with governing that he probably thought that he was interviewing Mueller for the job, but Mueller never wanted to be Trump’s FBI director and watching Mueller testify, it is impossible to imagine him working in a Trump administration.
