Sen Sherrod Brown Blasts Mitch McConnell For Being Addicted To NRA Money

Sen. Sherrod Brown made it clear who is to blame for the lack of action in the Senate on gun violence, as he told McConnell to break his addiction to gun money.

Sen. Brown (D-OH) said in Dayton, “I have repeatedly and decided to come to Dayton right away and went on a national show and called on Mcconnell to do that. I talked to senator Schumer since then. He’s onboard. A number of Democrats have now called on senator Mcconnell to come back. I have seen no action yet. Mcconnell’s got to break his addiction to drug company money and he — not drug company. Well, drug company money, too, actually. To break his addiction to gun lobby money and he hasn’t seemed to even take a step in that direction.”

Mitch McConnell Will Stop Anything Meaningful From Happening On Guns

Sen. Brown laid the problem at the feet of Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump. The president won’t support doing anything about the ease of obtaining guns, and McConnell is saying that he won’t support any legislation unless Trump signs off on it. Majority Leader McConnell is exploring legislation to regulate violence in video games, but he is not going to do anything about guns. Republicans blocked action after kindergartners and first graders were murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary. The Parkland shooting didn’t phase them. Shootings at places of worship in South Carolina and Pittsburgh did nothing.

Republicans didn’t blink when one of their own got shot practicing for the congressional softball game.

As long as those checks keep coming from the gun industry, the Majority Leader doesn’t care, which is why America needs to rid itself of Mitch McConnell.
