“It is not part of his job to use taxpayer money to shake down other countries for the benefit of his campaign,” Pelosi said of Trump after his White House released a redacted version of the promised full transcript of his Ukraine call.
“The release of the notes of the call by the White House confirms that the President engaged in behavior that undermines the integrity of our elections, the dignity of the office he holds and our national security,” the Speaker said in a statement sent to PoliticusUSA.
“I respect the responsibility of the President to engage with foreign leaders as part of his job. It is not part of his job to use taxpayer money to shake down other countries for the benefit of his campaign.”
“The transcript and the Justice Department’s acting in a rogue fashion in being complicit in the President’s lawlessness confirm the need for an impeachment inquiry.”
Pelosi then reminded everyone that the whistleblower complaint “was determined by the Inspector General to be a matter of ‘urgent concern’ and ‘credible.’ The Intelligence Community has long recognized that whistleblowers constitute a vital part of our national security apparatus and that they must be protected.”
Trump, Barr, House and Senate Republicans and the entire Trump administration are now actively engaged in a cover up of behavior that so threatens our national security it has been deemed “urgent.”
Trump promised the whole, unredacted transcript of his call with Ukraine, but then released yet another “summary” — and if that word gives you flashbacks to the Mueller report and Bill Barr’s lying “summary/non-summary”, it’s because once again you are being lied to by the Trump White House in an attempt to cover up yet another attempt to work with a foreign country to cheat in an election.
President Trump just confirmed why House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had to move forward with a formal impeachment inquiry, even though doing so puts the House at risk for Democrats, by releasing a redacted summary of his phone call with President Zelensky of Ukraine.
The question of the hour is what is in the UNREDACTED transcript of the phone call, since they were willing to share this incriminating bit.
