Under questioning, the acting Director of National Intelligence, Joseph Mcguire did not deny that he spoke to Trump about the whistleblower complaint.

When asked by Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) if he spoke to Trump about the complaint, Mcguire answered, “My conversations with the president, because I am the Director of National Intelligence, are privileged and it would be inappropriate for me because it would destroy my relationship with the president in intelligence matters to divulge any of my conversations with the president of the United States.”

Rep. Himes asked if he wasn’t denying that he spoke to Trump, and Mcguire answered, “What I’m saying, congressman, is that I will not divulge privileged conversations that I have as the director of national intelligence with the president.”

To the surprise of no one, the DNI talked to Trump about the whistleblower complaint, which explains why Trump was immediately so active in trying to discredit the whistleblower. It also points the finger at Donald Trump as the ringleader of the effort to bury the complaint.

There are two conspiracies at work in this story. Trump, Giuliani, Barr, and Pompeo were trying to shakedown Ukraine for dirt on Biden, and there is the cover-up conspiracy on the whistleblower complaint, and Donald Trump is at the center of both.
