Trump sustained his personal attack on House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff, but it is taking more of a tone of pleading desperation than strength.
Schiff is a lowlife who should resign (at least!). https://t.co/nGp9aFP3rX

Trump is trying to play the nude photos card that made his pal Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) a national joke at a recent Intelligence Committee hearing. Trump has gone from claiming that Schiff should be tried for treason to repeating his smear that the former prosecutor is a low life and needs to resign.
The president knows that he is cornered and he has no way out of this scandal. Trump personally decided to release the transcript of the phone call. Republicans are trying to distract by talking about the whistleblower complaint, but nowhere in the defense of Trump does anyone dispute the facts of the Ukraine call.
Donald Trump is trying to get Adam Schiff ousted because Rep. Schiff holds the keys to impeachment.
Trump has no way out, so he is using his standard tactic of attempting to discredit those who are investigating him. He has done it to the intelligence community, Robert Mueller, the press, and DAs in New York.
There is a slight inkling of recognition in Trump’s pleading tweet that he doesn’t hold the power in this situation, and if he can’t discredit Schiff, he will go into the 2020 election as a mortally wounded president.
