Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton emphasized on Tuesday that she isn’t running for president in 2020, but she didn’t pass up the opportunity to masterfully troll Donald Trump.
On PBS Newshour, Clinton responded to the president’s latest attacks on her by joking that “maybe there does need to be a rematch” between her and Trump.
“Obviously, I can beat him again,” the 2016 Democratic nominee joked.
You know, it truly is remarkable how obsessed he remains with me. This latest tweet is so typical of him. Nothing has been more examined and looked at than my emails, we all know that. So he’s either lying or delusional or both. There was no subpoena as he says in a tweet this morning. So maybe there does need to be a rematch. Obviously, I can beat him again. But, seriously, I don’t understand – I don’t think anybody understands – what motivates him other than personal grievance, other than seeking adulation. I said during the campaign there was no other Donald Trump, what you saw was what you were going to get.
Clinton’s trolling comes after Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday to spew more word salad about the woman who won the popular vote in the 2016 presidential election.
“I think that Crooked Hillary Clinton should enter the race to try and steal it away from Uber Left Elizabeth Warren,” the juvenile commander-in-chief said. “Only one condition. The Crooked one must explain all of her high crimes and misdemeanors including how & why she deleted 33,000 Emails AFTER getting ‘C’ Subpoena!”
The former secretary of state responded directly to him on Twitter: “Don’t tempt me. Do your job.”
Trump is desperately attacking Hillary Clinton
As the Democrats continue to ramp up their impeachment inquiry in light of Trump’s criminal extortion scheme with Ukraine, the president is completely imploding.
He is flailing as public support for impeachment is already going through the roof, and we’re only at the very beginning of what is sure to be an increasingly devastating process for this corrupt White House.
At the end of the day, Donald Trump knows he doesn’t have a leg to stand on as more information is uncovered about his abuses of power. That’s why he’s reviving his favorite strategy – attack Hillary Clinton.
