After Getting Destroyed For Weeks, Trump To Hire Impeachment Communications Specialist

The White House did nothing for weeks, but now they are rattled and looking to hire an impeachment communications specialist.

Politico reported:

Two names are under serious consideration for the job: Tony Sayegh, a former top Treasury aide, and Pam Bondi, the former Florida Attorney General.

Trump has long been a fan of Bondi, telling reporters last November that “I’d consider Pam Bondi for anything,†as he weighed various shifts within his Cabinet. Sayegh led the White House’s dedicated communications effort for the Republican tax bill, which has been the Trump administration‘s star legislative achievement. Both Bondi and Sayegh have been frequent presences on cable news, with Sayegh once serving as a Fox News contributor.

Trump’s choices for a communications specialist are the former Florida attorney general wh took kickbacks from Trump for not investigating Trump University and a former Fox News contributor.

The White House isn’t hiring a top communications firm or PR people who could construct an effective message to the public on impeachment, but none of those professionals would touch Trump with a thousand-foot pole. Instead, they are scraping the bottom of the barrel and looking for a person that Trump likes or who he has seen on TV.

The Politico piece also states that Mick “admit the quid pro quo” Mulvaney and Jared Kushner are running the show on impeachment messaging.

Trump is getting destroyed on impeachment. His hire is too little too late to make a difference.
