The GOP Makes Up A Good Impeachment Poll For Trump So He Can Feel Better About Himself

Things are so bad for Donald Trump that it appears the Republican Party is making up “internal” polling to make him feel better.

In a tweet on Friday, GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said that Trump’s approval rating has actually increased in the midst of his Ukraine scandal and the House impeachment inquiry.

“Our internal polling shows that despite the Democrats’ bogus attacks on [Donald Trump], his approval rating has increased!” she said on Twitter. “And in our 17 target states, voters oppose the Democrats’ efforts to remove President Trump by 14 points!”

As Sam Stein of The Daily Beast noted a short time after McDaniel’s tweet, when he asked to see the poll, they refused to hand it over.

Trump’s numbers are as dismal as ever

There are two possibilities when it comes to the so-called internal poll that the GOP says it conducted.

First is the possibility that the poll doesn’t exist and Ronna McDaniel is just trying to make her insecure boss happy, particularly after he was showered with boos last week when he left his MAGA bubble.

The second possibility is that the survey does exist, but it was just a junk poll with the sole purpose of – again – to give the president an ego boost.

Either way, that doesn’t change the existing data that shows not only that Trump’s approval rating is in the tank, but that each of the Democratic frontrunners for president is performing well against him.

According to a new ABC News-Washington Post poll released on Friday, Trump’s approval rating stands at a dismal 39 percent. Even his favorite poll – Rasmussen – shows that just 45 percent of Americans approve of his job performance.

CNN’s latest polling shows that Trump would lose to Biden by 10 points, Warren by 8 points, Sanders by 9 points and Buttigieg by 6 points.

The survey – whether it exists or not – is the polling equivalent of a Trump rally. Its sole purpose is to make Trump feel better, but the moment he’s exposed to the real world, it all falls apart.
