According to the Standards of Ethical Conduct For Employees of the Executive Branch, “An employee shall not use his public office for his own private gain, for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity, including nonprofit organizations of which the employee is an officer or member, and persons with whom the employee has or seeks employment or business relations.”
In other words, Trump can’t use the presidency to help his son sell books.
Never in the modern mass media age has the nation had a president who so shamelessly abused his office to benefit himself and his family. It is easy to become numb to the onslaught of illegal behavior coming out of the White House on a nearly daily basis, but the country can not allow itself to treat presidential corruption and profiteering as the new normal.
The only thing that will stop the Trump crime wave is to vote him out of office less than one year from today.
