Trump said, “Thankfully, Bread and Butter have been especially raised by the Jacksons to remain calm under any condition, which will be very important because they’ve already received subpoenas to appear in Adam Schiff’s basement on Thursday. True. Hundreds of people have. It seems the Democrats are accusing me of being too soft on Turkey. But Bread and Butter, I should note that unlike previous witnesses, you and I have actually met. Very unusual. Very unusual. In any event, I expect this pardon will be a very popular one with the media.”

The point has been reached in the Trump presidency where the president can’t appear in public without saying something about impeachment. Trump is following the opposite of the Bill Clinton impeachment playbook. Instead of going along with business as usual for a president, Trump is obsessed with being impeached and is turning every occasion into a conversation about impeachment.
The turkey pardon is the easiest part of the presidency. All a president has to do is stand in front of a couple of turkeys, pardon them, and say Happy Thanksgiving without getting attacked by one of the turkeys.
Any president should be able to do it, but Donald Trump couldn’t.
