Trump and Barr’s Russia Investigation Has Totally Backfired

The prosecutor that Attorney General Barr handpicked to investigate the intel community’s handling of the Russia investigation rejects Trump’s conspiracy theory.

The Washington Post reported:

The prosecutor handpicked by Attorney General William P. Barr to scrutinize how U.S. agencies investigated President Trump’s 2016 campaign said he could not offer evidence to the Justice Department’s inspector general to support the suspicions of some conservatives that the case was a setup by American intelligence, people familiar with the matter said.

The previously unreported interaction with Durham is noted in a draft of Horowitz’s forthcoming report on the Russia investigation, which concludes that the FBI had adequate cause to launch its Russia investigation, people familiar with the matter said. Its public release is set for Monday.

Instead of proving that the Russia investigation was a setup by the intelligence community to get Trump, the investigation is confirming that the FBI had cause to start the Russia investigation, which is exactly the opposite of what Trump and Barr expected the investigation to conclude.

Trump’s own DOJ has found that there was no “deep state” conspiracy against Trump. Obama didn’t spy on Trump. The intelligence community wasn’t out to get him or cause him to lose. The intel community investigated the Russian DNC hack and the Trump campaign’s connections to it because the Russians carried out an operation to help Donald Trump win the presidency.

The investigation that Trump thought would set him for 2020 has blown up in his face.
