Mary Trump said that the mask had been ripped off of her uncle Donald Trump for the people that have been enabling him.

The only thing he cared about with his clinging to power, even though he knew he lost. He’s always known he lost. He can maybe convince himself in some moments that he didn’t, but he knows he lost. And he was willing to sacrifice anything, including the lives of his vice president, his Secret Service, congresspeople who have been carrying his water for years.
That’s who he is. So I think it was just the horrifying reality of the mask being torn off to the people who had been enabling him. And yet, Lawrence. They still kept silent, and they still protect him. It is mind-blowing.
Elected Republicans convinced themselves that everyone around Trump that relayed these stories of his behavior were either lying or wrong. There are some true believers like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Jim Jordan who are going to stick with Trump no matter what is revealed.
Before the 1/6 Committee hearing, polling had shown that Trump was losing ground to Gov. Ron DeSantis in the 2024 Republican primary. Trump’s margin for error is not high.
Many Republicans who have been covering for Trump and enabling him got a look at who he really is at the hearing.
If they have another option in 2024, it is possible that Donald Trump might not win the Republican nomination.
