Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) said that Mar-a-Lago is a pretty safe place, and he’s fine with Trump leaking out top secret information.

Q: Are you concerned at all about national security breaches with those classified documents being at the Mar-a-Lago estate?
Russia Ron: I think Mar-a-Lago is a pretty safe place .. So, no, I’m not overly concerned about some Top Secret information being leaked out. pic.twitter.com/eJuHKTvbH6

Johnson said when asked about Trump having classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, “First of all, I think Mar-a-Lago is a pretty safe place. We have Secret Service protection sounds like these documents might have been in a safe, so I’m not overly concerned about some top secret information being leaked out.”
Trump had a Chinese spy running around Mar-a-Lago, and Ron Johnson thinks it is secure.
Sure, Ron Johnson is running for reelection this year, and he needs all of those Trump supporter votes in Wisconsin, but Johnson is also a reflection of the larger issue.
Donald Trump will never voluntarily leave politics because Republicans keep on enabling him. Trump has potentially committed espionage, but that does not phase Johnson. Trump lost Republicans the Senate in 2020 and looks to be well on the way to doing it again in 2022.
Republicans are willing to repeal the Espionage Act if it keeps Trump out of jail.
Ron Johnson knows better, so the only logical conclusion is that the man who has earned the nickname “Russia Ron” doesn’t care about national security.
