John Fetterman Is The Next Senator From Pennsylvania As Democrats Take A Big Step Toward Keeping The Senate

Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman defeated Mehmet Oz to flip Pennsylvania’s Senate seat and take a big step toward Democrats keeping their Senate majority.

Democrats were projected to hold the Senate seats in Nevada and Arizona, so the Fetterman win might be game over for the Republican hopes of winning the Senate. If Democrats retain the seats in Nevada and Arizona, the Georgia runoff becomes meaningless, as the election will not be for Senate the Senate majority.

Trump doomed Republicans in Pennsylvania by securing the Senate nomination for Oz.

Oz had high negative ratings throughout the campaign and could never come back from Fetterman’s effective early campaign portrayal of him as an outsider from New Jersey trying to buy a Senate seat in Pennsylvania.

Another Trump nominee has blown up in the faces of Republicans.

Pennsylvania voters decided they would rather have a person of character who cared about them, even as he was recovering from a stroke, than an empty out of state grifter who was in the Senate race only for himself.

John Fetterman won and, in the process, might have kept the Senate Democratic.
