A judge has sanctioned Donald Trump’s lawyers $50,000 for filing a RICO lawsuit against Hillary Clinton.
Maggie Haberman tweeted:
This kind of sanction is why so many Trump advisers and lawyers were distressed about his decision to file a suit against the NYAG in Florida.

Judges around the country have gotten tired of Trump and his lawyers using the court system to try to make political points with frivolous lawsuits.
The Judge wrote when he tossed Trump’s lawsuit:
Many of the Amended Complaint’s characterizations of events are implausible because they lack any specific allegations which might provide factual support for the conclusions reached.
For instance, the contention that former FBI director James Comey, senior FBI officials, and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein “overzealously targeted” Plaintiff and conspired to harm him through appointment of special counsel are strikingly similar to the conclusory and formulaic allegations found deficient in the seminal Supreme Court case of Ashcroft v. Iqbal, 556 U.S. 662 (2009). What the Amended Complaint lacks in substance and legal support it seeks to substitute with length, hyperbole, and the settling of scores and grievances.
The Judge tried to send the message to lawyers to stop filing these bogus lawsuits. Trump-supporting lawyers were sanctioned after the 2020 election for filing garbage election lawsuits.
If lawyers are going to behave unprofessionally and file trash lawsuits for Trump, they should prepare to be sanctioned for abusing the legal system.
