Biden Predicted That The GOP’s Trump Fever Would Break And It Looks Like He Was Right

In 2019, Joe Biden predicted that eventually Republicans would experience an epiphany and move on from Trump. It looks like he was right.

Biden said:

“I just think there is a way, and the thing that will fundamentally change things is with Donald Trump out of the White House — not a joke — you will see an epiphany occur among many of my Republican friends,” he said. “And it’s already beginning. In the House now, you’ve seen people that, in fact, were not willing to vote for any Democratic initiative, even if they agreed with it, because they didn’t want to be the odd person out if it wasn’t going to pass. There’s no sense in getting politically beaten for something that’s not going to happen. But you are seeing the talk, even the dialogue is changing.”

The 2022 midterm could be the beginning of that epiphany. Republicans watched Trump snatch defeat from the jaws of victory; most importantly, they are out of excuses. They can’t claim that the election was stolen, or that the pandemic caused a unique circumstance.

Republicans lost an election that they were supposed to win because of Donald Trump. As some in the party face this reality, they are drifting toward Ron DeSantis and other candidates.

Voters penalized candidates who were too supportive of Trump.

The former president is so damaged that he drags down virtually any high-profile race he touches.

Joe Biden was correct. The midterm election was a splash of cold water in the faces of the GOP.

It remains unknown whether or not Republicans have the guts and strength to run Trump out of their party, but as long as Trump is running the show, Republicans will continue to lose elections.
