Suddenly Mark McKinnon is not so keen on lowered expectations. He went on MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell’s “Last Word†program last night to denounce Sarah Palin as having crashed the Republican Party for too long, “Everyone’s dancing around Sarah Palin… her stock is falling and it’s falling pretty rapidlyâ€.
Joe McGinniss is now suing Sarah the pedophile hunter, or rather, the network promoting Sarah’s public image as a 2012 candidate, TLC, a subsidiary of the Discovery Channel for invasion of privacy and is demanding to be removed from the reality show over due to “unauthorized videotaped images of Mr. McGinniss which were obtained without his knowledge or consent.” Who can miss the irony of “discovery” in this context? Discovery will be had if TLC doesn’t back down after infringing upon Joe’s privacy rights.
The GOP’s birther front-runner Sarah Palin is proving quite the problem for the good old boys now that they’ve used her to push the country farther right, thereby handily establishing themselves as the center sane as they begin their domino denouncements of Ms Crazy.
It was surprising to read the despair and shock from the left this morning. But what hurts more than all of this, my liberal friends, is how the liberal base stabbed themselves in the back while complaining about how the Democrats never handle power well.

After a bad few weeks during which reporters have sought information regarding his military discharge, his previous employment history and reason for termination of said employment, the truth about his many uses of federal government money for his own family and then the now infamous hand cuffing of a journalist, Joe should be toast.
What’s a family values anti-gay, anti-sex, anti-commie conservative to do when he needs to make a buck? I mean, no one cares if Georgian State Representative (R-Canton) Calvin Hill earns his living selling dildos and gay pride buttons made in China, where he proudly announces “We have 3 sourcing offices in China to help source any product your customer requires.” Oh, any product, Mr Hill? Really? ANY product? Say it ain’t so!
Sarah Palin spoke in San Jose yesterday, where she engaged in her usual faux-military cheerleading speechiness. Never mind that in Alaska Palin was known for being disdainful and disrespectful of many vets who served her, this is a narrative about the great Divider who waves the flag and loves blood, so naturally she has to mix God and war together. In the course of this, she felt compelled to bring up Pat Tillman since he was from San Jose.
Nathan Deal doesn’t want to disclose his tax returns to y’all….now why would that be? Maybe because in 2006 and 2007 he paid a scant 1% in taxes. According to the Associated Press: “In 2006: Deal paid 2.95 percent or $5,575 in federal taxes on $188,904 in adjusted gross income. In 2007: Deal paid 1 percent or $2,068 on $205,433 in income.â€
Money numbers are in and it looks like our ladies of the far Right are being amply rewarded for their sublimely obtuse renditions of Poujadist Puppetry as candidate routines. Tea Party candidates Sharron Angle and Christine O’Donnell both pulled in a ton of cash in the last few months. And you were wondering what those Brawny paper towels were good for.
Dearborn Mayor John O’Reilly fired off a letter to Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle, saying she is “misled” about his city. O’Reilly invited Angle to visit Dearborn, where there has been a Muslim mosque for 90 years and they are nowhere near under “Sharia law” or a situation of “militant terrorism”. They mayor explained that people in his community by and large try to work together and Angle might want to visit the city before she slanders again.
The clock is ticking. Joe Miller has until tomorrow to respond to the Fairbanks Borough’s lawyer’s request that he release his personnel records for the purpose of correcting the misrepresentations Joe’s been making regarding why he won’t release the documents. Uh-oh. Looks like what we have here, boys, is another Palin pick gone bad.
The little shifty devil running for Governor in Georgia, Nathan Deal, has one more scandal to add to his seemingly endless fiscal scandal rap sheet. Nathan is running as a fiscal conservative. Naturally, this means he is good at grifting money from you and me and the government and manipulating the system to take advantage of loopholes and get no bid contracts for companies in which he has an interest.
It’s a conundrum when you are running as a DC outsider as you have no record to prove you walk your talk. How are voters supposed to know what you stand for? Well, they can always look at your life, right? Um, that is, unless your life is the opposite of the values you’re campaigning on. It is, after all, hard for the people to trust that you will somehow govern differently than you live.
Republican Senatorial candidate Sharron Angle is fear-mongering in her incoherent way again. This time she’s hitting on Dearborn, Michigan, suggesting there is a “militant terrorist” situation in Dearborn as they are under Sharia law. This, of course, is patently ridiculous. Dearborn Michigan is a city outlying the larger city of Detroit and the hometown of Henry Ford, as well as headquarters of the Ford Motor Company. It’s also home to our current Miss America, who happens to be a Muslim. Dearborn has a large, thriving Muslim community. Shiver me timbers.
No, I kid, I kid. The Republicans have come a long way. Sure, according to Rachel Maddow, “…the Republican Party is, without actually talking about it, this year, nominating a group of candidates for top of the ticket races that are more extreme on the issue of abortion than any other slate of top-of-the-ticket candidates in any year.â€

Running against Joe You Lie Wilson in South Carolina is Democrat Rob Miller. Miller belies the old adage that familiarity breeds contempt. In his case, the more people get to know him, the more they think Miller is right for South Carolina, and this was evident on the several days I spent with Miller again this year as he met with citizens of the Second District.
Scotland Yard’s evidence indicated that hundreds of celebrities, government officials, soccer stars, etc had been targets of Murdoch’s News of the World cell phone hackers. Scotland Yard looked the other way as Murdoch hacked into phones of both private citizens and the Royal Family, and again as Murdoch’s editor was installed as communications aide to Tory PM Cameron.
Women of the progressive voting bloc, how long have we been sleeping? I’m not sure how we got here, but our medical rights are not being honored as they should be. The administration is currently going to ban abortion coverage in the newly created Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plans. This ban would prevent women with serious pre-existing medical conditions — like cancer or diabetes — from getting the abortion coverage they need to protect their health.
This time they will be competent, faithful, and have integrity. This time it will be different. He said so. And after all, look at the picture! There they are standing in front of a small business as they make their pledge to us, so they must care, even though they voted against small businesses. Lie to me, I promise, I’ll believe.

Dinesh, he was just outted as having not fact-checked his ode to persecution and paranoia that Forbes published without fact-checking.

Buck showed up on The Ed Show to take a stand against Republican bully Governor Chris Christie who tried to intimidate him into not asking a question during a Meg Whitman forum in California.
I’m tellin’ ya’, you’re going to be hearing a lot about how lame ducks shouldn’t be doing anything – because, well, if they were to do something, it would be more liberal legislation than the Republicans want. In order to avoid this, Republicans are attempting the preemptive strike against lame duck legislation. This is, of course, the opposite of what the Republicans thought when they were the lame ducks and they did small things like impeach a president.

Former President Carter recently called out Fox News as being a source and propagator of paranoia against Obama, including birtherism and Christianism. Even though the Right loves to make fun of President Carter, Fox was scared enough by his accusations to attempt to debunk the former President via their old Breitbart fallback of misleadingly editing footage to cover their sins. Media Matters called them out on it.
Today, Palin must have been high on her Tea Party video release, and full of that dangerous combination of arrogance and incompetence, took to twitter to tell the Left off. However, I don’t need to tell you that in the process of this she revealed her utter ignorance — a fact which Keith Olbermann was kind enough to point out to the Tea Party leader.
Last night, Rachel Maddow applied her razor-like intellect to expose the inherent hypocrisy in the modern GOP, hiding beneath a thin veneer of cowardly double-talk. One of her examples was Bob Corker, R-TN. Corker fought to kill the US auto industry. He filibustered the auto bailout, holding it hostage until he could be promised that the auto workers would be paid less and ultimately voted no on it.
Bristol has finally made it to opening night and her mama Sarah Palin will be in the audience, making sure her daughter doesn’t become part of that evil “pop culture” Palin blames for our country’s woes. And accompanying the Mama Grizzly Pit Bull is tons of security, who have been warned that if security is breached, Sarah is a higher priority than her daughter.
Beck is attacking Harvard graduate and former Vice President of the American Law Institute Elizabeth Warren, using his usual lamestream media accusations and lies. Beck is upset because the President appointed Warren to oversee the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Warren “is one of our country’s fiercest advocates” for the middle class, Obama said Friday when introducing her. Right there, you see what the problem is.
I was having a great day today, all chilling out and lovin’ life, when I ran smack dab into Sarah Palin’s twitter bunker wherein she claims she never, ever told O’Donnell to speak only to Fox News. Sarah is super mad at the “lame stream media†and is askin’ them super nice like to “report the truthâ€, like the troops are over in the Iraq fightin’ for.
The press isn’t encouraged when Palin gives her Dominionist talks for anti-choice organizations; she waters down the extremism and wraps it in a Reagan Mommie image palatable if not adored by the average American when presenting her image outside of the closeted, secretive venue of the far Right religious extremism, within which she operates.
This morning, Malia Litman (owner of MaliaLitman’s “A Rebuttal to the Rogue” blog) alerted PoliticusUSA that she had uncovered a rather large lie Sarah Palin has been peddling to the American public. Litman did an exhaustive investigation which revealed that Palin has been fooling the American people about a fundamental aspect of who she is as a person.
On today’s (September 17) edition of Fox News’ Fox & Friends, Geraldo points out O’Donnell has no qualifications for office. This moment of sanity doesn’t go over well with the Fox game show hosts and the infomercial hostesses, who are super busy trying to sell the oldsters some Christine O’Donnell as a “common sense conservativeâ€.
Christine O’Donnell is an extremist who believes that a wife should be subservient to her husband. What I find most hypocritical about this, however, isn’t the fact that she and Palin are trying to sell women being subservient as the “new feminismâ€, but that at the very same time they are touting this kind of good girl routine, sucking up to the patriarchs with their winks and cheerleader smiles, they are also engaging in highly emasculating behavior.
Palin went all Tea Party gangsta on Karl Rove for Rove’s accurate analysis of the threat O’Donnell poses the GOP’s big dreams of taking the senate back this fall. Tonight on the The O’Reilly Factor, Palin called Karl out, issuing a few body blows to the Great White Thug in round one of the battle for the helm of the GOP.
I’m gonna go out on a limb here and suggest to my new pals in the Tea Party that we start pushing Christine O’Donnell for President!
After all, Christine has never quit her job. She’s hotter than Palin, younger than Palin, and she puts the cute in cute. Plus, while she doesn’t know anything, at least she has no ethics violations under her belt. Sure, she’s using campaign funds to pay rent and that ain’t legal, but really, who cares? She hasn’t been busted yet, and even if she is, we can just lie and say she hasn’t been.

The trick is making an analogy to purchasing something innocuous like dish soap and then secondly, hiding the party names and just presenting the record.
These are dark days, festering with fear and deliberate manipulation of the masses into a frenzied rage against “the otherâ€. But there are some voices speaking out against politicized hate; voices speaking out for the power of love, tolerance and acceptance. Their names may not be as recognizable as say, Frank Schaeffer, who is also doing plenty to speak out against hate as espoused by the modern day evangelical movement, but they are committed to peace and dialogue.
But it’s two years later and finally, the press begins their push-back, albeit local press from Missoula, Montana (aka: Real America), who may be stunned to find themselves on the accused end of Palin’s ceaseless witch hunt against the dissemination of information. This is not the Real American Mama Grizzly they thought they knew. No, indeed, Dorothy. These are dark days.
This morning on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Joe Scarborough and team of analysts laughed hysterically at Newt Gingrich’s birther statements regarding our President. They tried to stop, and even went so far as to read Newt’s entire quote to make sure he wasn’t being quoted out of context, but his entire statement was even more crazy. Hilarity ensued as the entire panel laughed at Newt.
It’s not often we get to see a real fiscal conservative in action in the current Republican Party. The rarest of rare breeds, they were run out or co-opted into Bushpublicans who now masquerade as Teapublicans, which is an industry, not a political party. But here we have one in George Voinovich. Look now while you can, because George is retiring.
The media (and the Left) are running with the meme that the draw down in Iraq is mere “rebranding” of the war. They buttress this notion with sarcastic references to the “combat troops” leaving Iraq. This misunderstanding is the fault of whoever started to report the drawdown as “combat troops leaving Iraq.” Combat troops have left Iraq, but we still have 50,000 combat troops there. They are no longer there in a combat role, however.
Sarah Palin uses Twitter and Facebook to throw a lit match onto the heightened tensions with Afghans over the Qur’an burning by falsely accusing an Afghan candidate of calling for the death of US Children. Into the craven echoing emptiness of what used to be the moral center of the Republican Party, I now ask just when will they stop trying to harm this country?
yesterday, after weeks of ginning up hate, we had the RNC talking point denial of stoking violence memo via Sarah Palin’s Facebook Page and Boehner tried it on ABC News’ Good Morning America –a mistake- he was obviously more concerned with his tan than any sort of real leadership on this issue and he sounded like a spoiled frat boy. The one thing we heard in all of their CYA talking points puppetry was a rather petty and obvious comparison of burning books to building a community center. Today is the day when we are supposed to forget how we got here.

The Pastor of the church in Florida that is planning to burn the Quran has a sleazy past in Germany involving both allegations of financial wrong-doing and being convicted for using a false PhD. This is the man the far Right are defending. This is their base, their audience, and the sort of people who are clearly easily seduced by the regular shots of GOP inspired crazy into doing horrific things.
Ever wonder where your elected official’s heart is? In Minnesota, it’s not with jobs; it’s with political ambitions. Last week, MN Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) issued an executive order that directs state agencies to opt out of discretionary aspects of the new healthcare reform law. And then he turned around and asked for 260 million dollars from job legislation funded by the stimulus he railed against to pay for Medicaid expenses.
The Right Wing is having a super hard time with this whole losing thing and it’s whipping them into a fury of potty-mouth tirades. From Rush Limbaugh to Sarah Palin, they’re obsessed with name-calling and sexual put-downs. Today Rush Limbaugh called Obama “hen-pecked,” “imam-child,” “wrecking ball,” “agitator,” and a “blithering novice,” while Palin calls reporters “Impotent, Limp and Gutlessâ€.
Both top US commander in Afghanistan, General David Petraeus, and one of his deputies, Lt. Gen. William Caldwell, are warning Americans that burning the Quran will endanger the troops in Afghanistan (and around the world), who are there fighting a war started by Republican President George Bush. A fearful nation awaits a leader from the Republican Party to grow enough courage to take a stand for us and for our troops and their mission.
It’s a question of productivity versus happiness as the ultimate judge of the welfare of nations. Yes, this is an argument for a socially just Democracy, or as I like to call it, civilization. Nic Marks must surely be a socialist. At TEDGlobal 2010 he suggested that we would be better off to measure success by happiness rather than productivity. Cue the crazy jihad nut job dance from the Right (plus a Glenn Beck cry fest), but meanwhile, I ask you on this Labor Day, have you ever been to a country where they valued overall contentment of the people over their productivity? Because once you’ve seen it in action, it’s hard to deny the validity of Marks’ inspiration.
It’s a Union Tweetfest, peeps. Because nothing says Labor Day like honoring and celebrating this country’s proud heritage of unions. Union workers are the backbone of this country. They span from steel mill workers to Hollywood writers, nurses to auto workers. These are the Real Americans, working hard to provide for their families. The union created the middle class. The Union helped pass pro worker legislation like the Fair Minimum Wage Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.
No one in Ohio likes John Boehner (R-OH) much. You know Boehner, the orange man whose tan resembles actor Hamilton, whom Obama referred to jokingly as “a person of color” at the 2009 White House Correspondent’s Dinner. Ah, our President. His wit does fly a tad above the target. Out here in the real world, most people don’t know who Boehner is, even in his home state band those that do don’t think much of him. However, his tan is infamous and the voters in his state report that they would like him more if he spent less time on his tan.
The seduction of the Tea Party for the people on the ground is obvious; they feel politicians are betraying them. They don’t trust Washington. They’re threatened by change. These elements never change; they are always ripe for manipulation by the dirtiest politicians who appeal to fear. All they need is a scapegoat upon which to funnel their impotent rage.

After all, nothing says Republican like wild, unfounded accusations. Oh, but wait, what about the general incompetence? Oh, that was here too. We had the whole show last night during a televised debate between Gubernatorial political opponents Incumbent Republican Jan Brewer and Democrat (current state attorney general since 2003) Terry Goddard of Arizona.
And then yesterday, as the President got ready to announce the last combat troops were out of Iraq, and the nation could finally let out its war-weary breath on one front, Republicans had the nerve, the unmitigated gall, to warn the President of the United States to not take “credit” for Iraq. Instead of acknowledging these sacrifices over your mistake, instead of fighting for Veterans’ benefits, instead of finding one damn thing to be positive about, Republicans can not stop being ungrateful, petty, small-minded, empty-hearted partisan hacks.
Well, do you remember that crazy woman who spent all of the money on clothes during the 2008 campaign and didn’t know what job she was running for and couldn’t answer any questions so she shut down the press until they would show “deference†to her? Yeah, Sarah Palin. That’s the one. Well, my friends……….It’s looking like she’s going to run for President of our great country.
A Public Policy Polling survey done of Alaskan voters in the Republican senatorial primaries, where Joe Miller appears to be winning in a surprising upset over incumbent Lisa Murkowski reveals that 59% percent of Alaskan voters weren’t moved by Palin’s endorsement.
It’s that time again. House Min. Leader John Boehner (R-OH) is going to address us again. You know, preparing for the GOP take-over this fall, so listen up people. Today’s talk is what we call a preemptive strike against any possible notion that Americans might be pleased with Obama for a moment over his successful draw down in Iraq. Boehner will give us his Republican Plan (fairy tale) about foreign relations! In this story, all Democrats including your President are fools and morons.
It seems that Sarah Palin has enlisted some help in her war against Medicare, as yesterday on Face The Nation, her handpicked Alaska US Senate candidate Joe Miller told the nation that Medicare is unconstitutional, thus furthering Palin’s un-Mama Grizzly like jihad against Medicare, and her advocacy of a policy that killed 254 Alaskans while she was governor.
Perhaps, the most discouraging thing about both Glenn Beck and Al Sharpton’s rallies today is not what was said, but that the two separate and unequal rallies took place at all. Beck’s whites want their country back, while Sharpton’s African Americans are reduced to second class status. These rallies show that King’s dream remains unfulfilled.
It’s Saturday morning and I’m tuned in to the Beck Transformation Rally so you don’t have to watch. Sarah Palin speaks and unveils her 2012 campaign slogan, which you won’t be surprised to learn, she lifted from that man who stole her office, that black man, President Obama. Is it bad to point out that I love how she’s using theft to shift stereotypes?

If that wasn’t enough, the muted GOP reaction to a judge affirming gay marriage rights in California gave it all away.
It seems Joe Miller rose up with his Mama Grizzly and stole a lead over incumbent Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski! The pundits will be wild with glee for another reason to keep Sister Sarah in their sights this morning. That woman is gold. The Democrats will be happy, because after all, Sarah is their biggest fund-raiser and who is easier to run against than a fringy Tea Partier? But you? You will not be happy.
A member of the Republican National Committee, Kim Lehman, has publicly accused the President of being a Muslim and her Party has remained mum, failing to correct her or condemn her behavior. Ms Lehman said she was referencing a speech Obama gave in Egypt in 2009. The transcript of the speech does not support Ms Lehman’s accusation.
“The most radical President ever to occupy the Oval Office.†That’s the sound of an anti-government movement of hate funded by billionaires being sold to “average Americans”. Sort of a Tea Party madrassa, if you will. The Tea Party’s funders are serving up their manufactured narratives and much of the public is eating it up.

Come on, you know conservatives are just salivating over this one, post-Dr Laura “N-word” rant! Cue the false equivalencies and impugned characters!
The dictionary definition of feminism is “the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men.” In no way do you stand for that, Sarah. In no way have you ever worked toward these goals as an elected official. In no way do you use your celebrity to accomplish these goals or even raise awareness about the inequities.
The GOP media arm and political organization Fox News took to the airwaves today to continue their Fear And Anti-Law Campaign against the Cordoba Center (aka, the scary Mosque of terrorists). In order to really, really scare people, they dipped into their vast pool of political terrorists and came up with this guy, Walid Shoebat.
Your President spent a day in Real America to visit a smart energy grid manufacturing facility that is putting to use 1.3 million dollars in Recovery Act money. While your President was supporting green energy, he also supported keeping manufacturing jobs here in America. Does it never end?
While the constitution forbids prohibiting a mosque from being built blocks away from ground zero (“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”), Republicans are salivating at the prospect of ignoring the constitution (again) and using this for political hay. Apparently, the Family Values Party is not concerned with the strip clubs (like New York Dolls) that surround hallowed ground (after all, we all know that Hooters is a family restaurant and Fox News is not conservative day time porn), because nothing says Christian Values and Apple Pie like a strip club.
There’s nothing like a little Right Wing silliness to make a Monday complete and this Monday does not disappoint. Sunday, Tea Partiers carrying water for the GOP’s new fear mongering Get Out the Vote tactic rallied on a private ranch owned by a hate group to show support for Arizona’s Papers First Law. This is, of course, all a part of the “Obama and the Democrats don’t keep us safe†narrative, buttressed by the fear of anchor babies and general resentment of brown people which has eclipsed the Right’s fear of gay people this election season.
If you thought politics was dirty, try justice. For the past ten years, runaway spending has been funneled into state judicial races so special interests could buy a friendly justice. After the February ruling of Citizens United further enabled the flow of corporate money into elections, the danger of judicial corruption threatens to undermine all confidence in justice.

Running for US Senate in California, Republican Carly Fiorina has been touting her “executive†experience (thank you Sarah Palin) as CEO of Hewlett-Packard. Her campaign bio makes her sound like she whipped that place into shape, managed a mega-merger with Compaq and helmed the “reinvention†of the company. But wait—behind the business leader façade of this Mama Grizzly pick we find some rather unpleasant facts. Carly was fired from Hewlett-Packard. How does that fit into “executive experience� Couple that with the fact Hewlett-Packard is giving substantially more money to Carly Fiornia’s opponent, liberal Democrat Barbara Boxer, and you have to wonder if the Republicans vetted their picks this year.
Sarah Palin was on Fox News’ Freedom Watch yesterday with Andrew Napolitano (the “Judge”) to discuss the utter badness of Obama’s stimulus package (not to be confused or repudiated with his “cajones”, people—keep it clean, we leave the vulgar stuff to the Sister Sarah). So Sarah was tossin’ around those buzz words like “feds bribin’ the states” and she was feelin’ pretty good. Sarah loves being the attack dog and it looked like she was in her element…..Until The Judge asked her if she was upset about the Bush stimulus package and TARP. This is where poor Sarah teetered and fell right off her talking points into the great abyss of Things She Doesn’t Understand.
It’s the 75 anniversary of Social Security and so, naturally, Republican leaders and candidates want to take it away from us, being the modern day anarchists they are. Any government program that does not benefit the corporations needs to go. President Obama has sworn to honor and protect your Social Security benefits from the Republicans, whose candidates have made privatization a key part of their agenda.
Before Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Karen Handel conceded today, Georgia Republican Representative Jack Kingston was on the radio show “America’s Morning News” with John McCaslin & Amy Holmes when he expressed his displeasure with Sarah Palin sticking her nose into Republican primaries all over the country, and said he thought Georgians would be “doin’ their own thing”. Kingston prefers Palin “butt out” of Georgia politics and urges Republicans to “rethink Palin as someone who shoots from the hip.”
