On her MSNBC show tonight Rachel Maddow explained how Sarah Palin gave a giant gift to the Democratic Party over the weekend by Arizona’s immigration law, “Sarah Palin’s ecstatic endorsement of Arizona’s papers please law and the governor who signed it is a very exciting moment for Democrats.” Maddow explained that the GOP has been tripping itself up with immigration politics for 150 years.
Glenn Beck has been in denial about his ratings slide for weeks now. First, he claimed that there is no ratings decline for his Fox News show, and then he claimed that the weather was to blame for his 33% drop in viewership. However by attracting only 1.7 million viewers on Friday, Beck hit a new all time low which is now 50% off of his peak audience of 3.4 million.
For decades Republicans have been using voter intimidation tactics to prevent minorities from showing up at the polls to support Democratic candidates, and as Hispanics have fled the GOP, it appears that they are the newest voter intimidation target. As 2012 looms, one of the intended consequences of the AZ immigration law is to keep Latinos away from the polls.
Senate Minority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) was on Meet The Press today, and he came right out of the gate trying to score political points on the Gulf oil by blaming the Obama administration for the incident, “the administration’s involvement in this will be a big part of the inquiry.” McConnell also stated his opposition to lifting the damages cap and making BP pay for everything.
Fox News is still in full spin mode when it comes to the Gulf oil spill. Since the explosion, the network has been touting the virtues of offshore drilling, while downplaying the damage from the Gulf spill. However, Fox News Sunday’s Brit Hume took it to new low today, when he doubted the size of the spill because the oil has not covered the coast yet. Hume asked, “Where is the oil?”
This week, President Obama made it clear at a DCCC fundraiser that Republicans are to blame not only for driving the economy into a ditch, but also bringing Washington to a standstill. With the primaries coming up on Tuesday, it is time for Democrats to step and take the first step towards making sure that Republicans don’t get the chance to put us back in the ditch.
It seems the GOP, in its quest to distort the racist realities of Arizona’s immigration reform law, is forgetting about W’s ill-fated attempt at pushing his own immigration reform legislation in 2007.
On Fox News yesterday, Shepard Smith unloaded on BP CEO Tony Heyward who called the Gulf Oil spill a small leak. In a commentary Smith said to Heyward, “Our water is now polluted, our coast is now soiled…many of our people are out of a job, and 11 hard working men are dead from the explosion on the rig that carried your company’s name….at least act like you care.”
One of the dirty little secrets about presidents and approval ratings is that more often than not the numbers are governed by pocketbook politics. Both Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan inherited recessions early in their terms, and interestingly, Obama is has a higher approval rating that Reagan at the same point during their first terms. Obama is actually stronger than Reagan was right now.
Not content with attacking politicians from their so called news desks, Fox News has now taken to attacking entire cities, specifically Los Angeles for boycotting the state of Arizona because of their immigration law. The network labeled LA, “A collection of lunatics, that’s also broke.”
No attempt is made by Christian fundamentalists, who are hopelessly mired in the medieval thought-world, to actually understand Islam. Their purpose instead is to demonize it. The old crusader mentality is alive and well on the Right and marching in lockstep with that ancient persecution complex should anyone raise an eyebrow at their absurd claims.
During her speech in front of the NRA, Sarah Palin threw a little red meat to the crowd by claiming that President Obama wants to take away guns and ammo, but the truth is that Obama presidency has been extremely pro-Second Amendment. Obama has been so pro-gun that the Brady Campaign gave his administration him an F on their annual report card.
Sarah Palin, who has replaced Jesse Jackson as America’s foremost political ambulance chaser wasted no time in exploiting the fates of an Illinois girls high school basketball team who will not be going to Arizona for a tournament due to the state’s immigration policy. Palin urged the teenage girls to “go rogue†and go to the tournament on their own if the school won’t give permission.
Another day brings another addition to ever growing portfolio of lies that Sean Hannity is delivering to his Fox News viewers about Barack Obama. On his show tonight, Hannity lied about Obama slashing anti-terrorism funding to New York City. This is a complete falsehood. New York City is actually gaining $47 million more in anti-terrorism funding over last year.
One of the things that have not been reported on about Barack Obama’s visit to Buffalo, NY today was his reaction to a question about abolishing the IRS and moving to a flat tax. Obama said, “In order to have a flat tax that was revenue-neutral, that didn’t add to the deficit, it’d have to be a pretty substantial tax, but it would mean a huge tax break for Warren Buffett.”
A popular argument on the Right and by some in the same proclaimed enlightened Left is that Obama campaigned on the word “change,” but they argue that everything is still the same or in other words a continuation of the Bush policies. However, this is simply not true, and Obama is compiling the record to refute it.
On his radio show today Rush Limbaugh blamed Facebook, My Space, and Twitter for activism on issues like the environment and breast cancer. Limbaugh claimed that social media lure people into activism, “I know everybody does want to matter, that’s how they lure them into environmental activism.” Watch out for Facebook and Twitter ditto heads, because they will brain wash you into caring.

Gulf oils spill is yet another story of careless, reckless deregulation and corruption under the Bush administration which has led to loss of life, destruction of wildlife and the environment, loss of income, and more. The full impact of the oil sill is still unknown.
Once again Glenn Beck channeled Jesus Christ to proclaim that Jesus Christ is against a cap and trade system. On his Fox News program, Beck said, “We all have to share the Earth and do what he wants, but Jesus does not want a cap and trade system.” Where in the teachings of Jesus does he discuss cap and trade?

On his radio show today Glenn Beck continued to urinate all over the meaning and legacy of Martin Luther King, by claiming that King would support a new Arizona education policy that bans courses that are designed for students of a particular ethnic group, and prohibits teachers with a heavy accent from teaching English. Beck said, “This I believe Martin Luther King would be for.”
On The Daily Show last night host Jon Stewart deftly exposed the flaws in the conservative argument against Obama that everything he does is just like George W. Bush. Stewart said, “Remember that terrible thing that Bush did that we fought for eight years to convince you wasn’t bad, but actually good? Well now we use those very incidents as the low water mark for your guy…”
The Right Wing is revealing both the dearth of their values as well as the utter emptiness in their opposition to Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan by focusing on her looks. This is on par with the Republican Party’s oppression of women platform, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise, and yet the fact that they are so graceless as to come out with the hideously appalling criticisms they did is still shocking.
Usually The Daily Show host Jon Stewart is the one skewering pundits and cable news nightly, but he took on CNN’s Roland Martin and his ascot, he messed with the wrong guy. Martin’s strong and passionate defense of the ascot led Stewart to cry uncle, and say, “You win this round Roland.”
Rush Limbaugh’s tenuous grasp on reality took another turn for the worse today, as he tried to make the case that it is Obama and the Left, not the Right which is delusional, “Now Obama is totally delusional, but that’s not the half of it. Leftist ideologues are always delusional. I mean that’s how they are able to ignore all the facts and knowledge around them.”
Is the GOP being honest in their critique of Kagan? The round up of Conservative’s arguments against Kagan appears to be baseless, hypocritical and perhaps grounded in her fight against corporate influence on elections.
Last night, though, we were treated to an interview with Hillary Clinton on CBS’s “60 Minutes”. Clinton hardly dominates the media since becoming Secretary of State, so seeing her was a stark contrast to the daily Palin saturation of the news. Watching Hillary was healing, uplifting and encouraging. Hillary is the anti-Palin, and she’s out there kicking ass for us every day.
One of the talking points that have emerged from the right about Elena Kagan is that she views the Constitution as defective. This is based on a Thurgood Marshall quote that Kagan used in an article she wrote in 1993. Rush Limbaugh ran with this point today, and the problem that by defending the original Constitution both Limbaugh and the RNC are endorsing slavery.

On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh claimed that President Obama is ignoring the victims of the Tennessee flood because, “he doesn’t have any constituents there,” which implied that Obama is ignoring Tennessee, because they support Republicans and they are white. However, Limbaugh neglected to mention that FEMA was on the ground in Tennessee before the rain even started.
On his radio show today, Glenn Beck confuse the progressive movement of the late 19th and early 20th Centuries with the modern definition of progressive, so that that he could make the case that progressives are the most racist people who have ever lived in America, “The most racist people ever to live. He highlighted that the Tea Party has admitted that they coined their own nickname. He used poll numbers that show the negativity of is starting to hinder the enthusiasm of Republicans.
A dark storm is brewing over the Senate as Republicans obstruct Presidential nominees in record numbers, abusing secret hold and laundering holds in an attempt to outrun Senate rules. The Republicans’ unprecedented use of secret holds has almost brought government to a standstill, and yet they’ve avoided all accountability for their actions by hiding under the cloak of anonymity. Senator Claire McCaskill tried to force them to own up to their holds this week.
The press fawned over Sarah Palin when she arrived at last night’s Time 100 Gala, stepping over themselves to get a photo of the gal who refused to speak to them until they show “deference” to her as she was campaigning to be Vice President of America and has not yet held a press conference or taken unscreened questions from the press. Palin quoted Thomas Jefferson, whose prophetic quotes suggest he saw Palin coming.
Our President, in just a few short weeks, is managing to address multiple disasters and crisis situations at the same time. Response to what may become the largest and most significant and dramatic oil spill disaster in our nation’s history is now being blamed on the Obama administration by the “usual suspects on the “Right”‘ instead of the big oil company, BP that caused it, while at the same time keeping America safe from terrorism.
On his radio show today Glenn Beck mocked MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow for using the term paleoconservative on her MSNBC program this week. Since Beck doesn’t know what the term means he said, “What the hell is a paleoconservative, a dinosaur?” He then told progressives to stop making up terms. Actually, the term was coined by a conservative 30 years ago, and Beck once again demonstrated his illiteracy.
On his radio show today, Glenn Beck displayed how much fame has gone to his head, while name dropping some celebrities and the fact that he was at the Time 100 Most Influential People banquet last night, Beck said, “It’s like Jon Stewart. Jon Stewart’s not thinking yeah get that guy off the air. I’m good for him and his ratings.” Beck keeps selling himself on the idea that the ship isn’t sinking.
This is the story of rampant deregulation in a never-ending ode to Profit as King, as propagated by the Bush/Cheney administration across all sectors of our economy, which didn’t end with Wall Street or mortgage lending or Enron. Indeed, the deregulation scandals extend now to off-shore drilling in the form of the missing Valve, a remote shut-off device called an acoustic switch. Dick Cheney may have had his hand in the Department of Interior’s decision not to mandate the valve for off-shore oil rigs.
The Washington Post, that “liberal elite” paper, is following in Fox’s footsteps by regurgitating false Miranda information, suggesting that Miranda rights are optional and should not be employed with suspected terrorists, even if said suspect is an American citizen. Fox News has long advanced the claim that reading Abdulmutallab Miranda rights compromised the government’s ability to get information. This, of course, was not an issue for Fox when the Bush administration handled the suspected terrorists the exact same way. When they’re not trying to terrorize Americans into voting for them, the Right is trying to terrorize Americans into giving away all of their freedoms.
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh theorized that the Times Square bomber was an Obama supporter. Limbaugh said, “Guess what Faisal Shahzad was a registered Democrat. I wonder if his SUV had an Obama sticker on it.” Guess what, this is a rumor being spread by right wing blogs with no confirmation or evidence, but that doesn’t stop Limbaugh.
In calling the BP oil spill “Obama’s Katrina”; conservatives infer that the President did not act fast enough. However, not only has this meme been debunked, but it goes to the central hypocrisy of the current conservative moment, whose only consistent value is to oppose Obama in order to destroy his Presidency. Conservatives are attempting to foist all responsibility for the clean up of the private sector caused oil spill onto the President. In fact, the conservative effort to label this as Obama’s Katrina represents the Conservative endorsement of socialism.
On his radio show today, Glenn Beck first claimed that his ratings aren’t declining, but then blamed the weather for his loss of one million Fox News viewers. Beck’s excuse, “It’s called the spring and summer. It’s a cycle.” The problem is that Beck’s viewership numbers have been dropping since January, which is in the winter, when people are usually inside their homes watching television.

Today on ABC’s This Week BP Chairman and President Lamar McKay put to rest all of the right wing conspiracy theories that the Gulf Oil spill was an act of terrorism carried out by left wing environmentalists, or a foreign government. Instead McKay said the probable cause less sinister and more mundane, “I believe we’ve got a failed piece of equipment.”

President Barack Obama outdid Leno tonight at the 2010 White House Correspondents Dinner, aka #Nerdprom. There were lots of jokes about his approval ratings, Joe Biden, Mitt Romney and Rahm Emanuel. However his best material was reserved for the birthers and Sarah Palin. For the birthers he joked that his popularity still remains high in his, “home country,†and he jabbed at Palin with a comment about, “socialized media.â€
During his commencement speech at the University of Michigan today, President Obama took on the partisanship in both the Left and Right Wing media, “Today’s 24/7 echo-chamber amplifies the most inflammatory soundbites louder and faster than ever before.” Obama urged Americans to be less partisan and try to see both sides of an issue.
Ironically, in 2006, all of the players you now see polarized had agreed to an immigration reform bill co-sponsored by Democrat Ted Kennedy and Republican John McCain. Said bill is now way too sane for McCain to put his name to, as he is busy selling his soul to the radical right and taking his friend Lindsey Graham down with him. Anything to keep his seat. Country First. Yada yada.
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is using drug related border violence to justify a draconian and perhaps unconstitutional law, but the two have nothing to do with one another. In fact, in the video the reporter says, “he (Officer Pinal) was tracking the five suspects as they transported marijuana and other drugs…” So if Brewer wanted to deal with this issue, she should have written a law dealing with drug trafficking and undocumented fire arms, not people who “look undocumented”. Hey, I’m just assuming she’d want to narrow the field down to the dangerous folks if her argument is the threat of violence.
On his FNC program Hannity, Sean Hannity was doing his best to sell the oil spill in the Gulf as Obama’s Katrina, when he flat out lied to his audience and said, “The fact is they sat back for nine days and did absolutely nothing.” If by doing nothing Hannity meant deploying the Coast Guard within hours of the explosion, first for search and rescue then to contain the spill, then Obama did nothing.
Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol both testified at the email hacking trial of David Kernall, which found him guilty of 2 out of 4 charges. The trial lasted just two days. In reporting the verdict this evening, Fox revealed, “Bristol Palin said she was distressed to find pictures of her newborn son in the public eye after her mother’s e-mail was hacked.” But Bristol’s baby supposedly wasn’t born until December of 2009.
In a desperate attempt to lure Fox News viewers back that have abandoned him Glenn Beck launched Founding Fathers Friday today, but instead of talking about the Founding Fathers, Beck announced that the progressives, led by Woodrow Wilson have perverted religion. Beck said, “They got into our faith and religion. They perverted it. They controlled it.”
Fox News went on the attack today against Colombian pop singer Shakira, because she was in Arizona yesterday speaking out against that state’s immigration law. This morning on Fox and Friends Brian Kilmeade said, “We know her hips don’t lie, but we aren’t so sure about her lips.” Because the singer dared to criticize a Fox News supported policy, she now joins LL Cool J on their enemies list.
The “Drill Baby Drill” proponents are eerily silent as the oil spill in the Gulf, which could become one of the worst recent environmental disasters of this nation, threatens hundreds of species of fish, birds and other wildlife. The massive explosion and subsequent oil spill of a rig in the Gulf of Mexico may lead to reinstating the expired moratoriums on off-shore drilling as well as new regulations, which oil giant BP says it is expecting.
Fox News contributor Bill Kristol was on Special Report with Bret Baier tonight defending off shore drilling, when he made perhaps the stupidest statement of all time. He said offshore drilling is quite safe, “and very environmentally clean, except where there is a disaster like this.” Essentially Kristol is saying that offshore drilling is safe, until the oil rig bursts into flames.
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh unveiled his brand new conspiracy theory that environmentalists were secretly behind the oil rig explosion that has spilled hundreds of thousands of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico. He reasoned, “What better way to head off more oil drilling, nuclear plants than by blowing up a rig?”
The attorney for Sarah Palin, Thomas Van Flein took to her Facebook page last night to gloat about another Alaska ethics complaint being dismissed, when he compared Palin to George Washington, “voluntary relinquishment of power for the greater good is normally praised as an example of true leadership, just review any biography of George Washington.”
Things are not looking good for Glenn Beck and FNC. Not only have over 200 advertisers left Beck, and the network has been reduced to virtually giving away his ad time, but Fox News viewers are leaving his show in droves. Since January, Beck has lost 33% of his audience, or roughly 1.4 million daily viewers. The worst news for Beck is that this has been a steady erosion, and the viewers are not coming back.
The birther movement is back with a new conspiracy that states not only was Barack Obama not born in America, but that the whole birther movement is a creation of Obama and the Left, in order to make the right look crazy. Both Tom Tancredo and Glenn Beck have embraced this conspiracy within a conspiracy that, in essence blames the entire birther movement on Obama and the Left.
The false narrative continues as Steve Schmidt (aka, the Bullet) reveals Palin’s debate answers were memorized and scripted. What’s the difference between a Palin debate and a movie? Not much apparently. Sure, American politicians sell a cult of personality, but must it be so disingenuous as to include main characters like W and Palin? Can’t the GOP find someone who can read? Aren’t candidates supposed to have some ideas, something they stand for and shouldn’t they be able to discuss that topic without memorizing answers?
Sarah Palin and her Misinformation Express turned up in the safe and comforting arms of Sean Hannity tonight, and Palin claimed that President Obama and the Democrats are using the new immigration law in Arizona to play politics and incite their base. Palin said, “It’s really to incite and energize some of Obama’s base hoping that they will show up at the polls in the midterm election in November.”
While trying to defend Arizona’s new immigration law, Rush Limbaugh claimed that the Arizona bill is not as big a usurpation of power as Barack Obama’s plans to take away salt. Of course, Obama isn’t really trying to take away anyone’s salt, but this didn’t stop Limbaugh from comparing a policy of discrimination to FDA warnings about the amount of salt in processed food.
Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough has earned the wrath of many of his fellow Republicans for his criticism of the new Arizona immigration law. In the face of growing volumes of hate mail, today Scarborough continued as he called the bill un-American. Scarborough said targeting legal Hispanics is, “unacceptable and un-American.”
On his MSNBC program Countdown, Keith Olbermann finally brought into the mainstream media what many in the blogosphere have been wondering for days, did Sarah Palin perjure herself with her testimony in the email hacking case? The fact is that the emails released from Palin’s personal email accounts contradict her testimony, and Sarah Palin is caught in yet another lie.
Director James Cameron was on MSNBC’s Hardball today and when he was asked by host Chris Matthews about the power Glenn Beck, he delivered an ominous warning, “Guys like Beck and the others, I think they are very dangerous to this country.” Some on the Left like Cameron are starting to wake up and realize that Beck, Limbaugh, and the others need to be taken seriously as more than entertainers.
President Barack Obama and Senate Democrats are absolutely giddy today to be losing a procedural vote on Wall Street reform. Why are they so happy? If the Senate Republicans stand together and vote no, Democrats are prepared to rake them over the coals on the issue, as 2/3 of all Americans support financial reform. By being the Party of No, the GOP is painting themselves as the party of Pro Wall St.
On MSNBC’s Morning Joe today, Republican Joe Scarborough put the new Arizona immigration law into context by talking about the totalitarian nature of this law. He said, “For every 10 illegal immigrants that they catch and send back home, what about that one American citizen who is a Hispanic who now every time that he goes to the grocery store has to be worried that he is going to be stopped…”
A weekly roundup of the Republican Wing Nut Circus, this week featuring the Ohio GOP telling women to get back to the kitchen, Sarah Palin blaming a hacked email account for losing the election in 2008, Rush Limbaugh claiming that Obama is going to repeal presidential term limits, and of course Rachel Maddow on Sue Lowden’s plan to barter chickens for health care.
Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) continued to distance himself from the members of the fringe right by refusing to call President Barack Obama a Socialist today on CBS’ Face The Nation. When asked the Socialism question, Brown said, “I think the President is a good man… I know he cares deeply about our country. But it– it’s just different priorities.” Brown also took a swipe at the birthers by saying that he knows that Obama is an American.
The Atlantic’s Andrew Sullivan was on the syndicated Chris Matthews Show today, and he said that the Beck, Palin, Limbaugh and Fox News are calling the government illegitimate, and are committing sedition. Sullivan said, “This is about the moment when America’s divides go right up to calling the government, not wrong, but illegitimate.” Let’s examine the law and see if the right wing is behaving seditiously.
Paul Krugman was on ABC’s This Week this morning, where he pulled no punches when discussing the GOP’s argument against Wall St. reform. He called, Mitch McConnell’s argument against financial reform as, “the most dishonest argument ever made in the history of politics, which is the claim that having regulation of the banks is actually bailing out the banks.”
For the past 10 days, Fox News has been full throatily endorsing the new immigration bill that was just signed yesterday in Arizona. Fox has been consistently pushing the idea that the AZ bill is the model for the nation. Here are some examples of the Goebbels like usage of propaganda by Fox News on this story.
While testifying in court today, Sarah Palin came up with a brand new excuse for the losing the 2008 election to Barack Obama. Palin stated under oath that the hacking of her email account cost her and that guy John McCain the election. She said, “I don’t think an illegal action like this is a prank. Not when you consider how impacting it was on a presidential election. It went beyond a prank.”
Unwilling to let any chance for more publicity via her specialty of moral poutrage sprinkled over Dim-Sum pass her by, Sarah Palin takes to her facebook page to decry the Pentagon’s decision yesterday to dis-invite Franklin Graham from National Prayer Day. In doing so, Palin demonstrates yet again how little she thinks/knows of the law, inviting satire as the only possible rebuttal available to all reading citizens.
Scott Brown (R-MA) appeared on NBC-TV’s “Today” show this morning. Brown made his break with the Tea Party final by announcing he would support Mitt Romney over Tea Party darling Sarah Palin, dashing the hopes of many Tea Partiers who had fantasies of a Palin/Brown ticket in 2012. The support of the Tea Party and Sarah Palin’s endorsement are assumed to be responsible for getting Brown his seat in the special election in January of this year.
Vice President Joe Biden was on “The View” this morning. Elizabeth Hasslebeck asked Biden if he thought Palin posed a threat for 2012. Biden didn’t seem too worried about Palin as a contender, but he did say, “I say this and people look at me like I’m kidding, I like her,” which is politico speak for she can’t win.
On his radio show today, Rush Limbaugh labeled all union government employees whether they are Democrats or Republicans freeloaders, leftists, and socialists. Limbaugh said, “This is incredible, unheard of a bunch of leftist, socialists, neo- communist union people asking their brothers in government to raise taxes,” but Rush, what about all of the Republicans that are employed by the public sector?
Franklin Graham wants to use democratic principles to establish Christianity as the official state religion of the USA. He uses the idea of representative democracy and majority rule to qualify repression of the Muslim faith and sanction Christianity as the official religion of the United States of America.
Republicans have continued their push to pass a bill that would replace President Ulysses S. Grant on fifty dollar bill with Ronald Reagan, but a new Marist poll found that people not only dislike the idea, but reject it soundly. 79% of those surveyed replied that they do not want Ronald Reagan’s smiling mug on their money. Most surprisingly, 71% of Republicans did not like the idea either.
Palin’s latest scandal, “Shreddergate”, turned serious and ugly when Palin fans started threatening State Senator Yee and President Obama. These threats are now being investigated by the Secret Service (due to threatening references to the President) as well as the California Highway Patrol.
On his Fox News program tonight, host Bill O’Reilly, and guest Bernie Goldberg continued Fox News’ feud with The Daily Show host Jon Stewart by calling Stewart the point man for the left wing media in America. Bill-O said, “I believe that Jon Stewart has now emerged as the point man for the left wing media in America.”
On his radio show today, Glenn Beck continued to warp the legacy of the civil rights movement in the United States by claiming that his 9/12 Project and the angry white Tea Party are the next phase of the civil rights movement. Beck read the civil rights movement commitment card to audience, then said, “It looks to me like the next phase of the 9/12 Project.”
Paranoia is black coffee to the right wing, and Fox and Friends provided their viewers their daily dose by claiming that President Barack Obama controls the media. Host Steve Doocy said, “The funny thing normally it’s the Barack Obama White House (who) controls the media with the media’s full consent.â€
Jon Stewart opened his Tuesday show with a rebuttal of Bernie Goldberg and Fox News’ claims that he is an elitist with an unsophisticated audience who favors liberals. Stewart said, “Look, I know I criticize Fox News a lot, but only because you are truly a terrible and cynical disingenuous news organization.”
Lest you think that the Palin 2008 rallies of hate were an anomaly, Palin fans are now attacking Senator Yee, who called for an investigation of Stanislaus State after University administrators refused to supply Palin’s speaking contract, claiming they didn’t have it. The rage, hatred, bigotry and violence that Palin fans have put on display here has a goal: to silence the Senator. In other words, this is political terrorism.
There is a quiet, very polite conflict going on in the executive branch of Minnesota state government, over who legally represents the state and who calls the shots about going to court over the recent health care reform legislation, aspiring 2012 presidential candidate Gov. Tim Pawlenty is locked in a battle with AG Lori Swanson over who legally speaks for the people of Minnesota on the issue.
On his radio show today, Glenn Beck finally seems to have gone off the cliff as he not only claimed that God has given him a plan, but also he is carrying out God’s will and anger. Beck told his listeners that they it is God’s will that they get behind him and follow him. He said, “When we were starting the TV show there are things that I did that I wouldn’t do now because I had to be more of an entertainer.”
When she’s not inciting violence, GOP 2012 front-runner Sarah Palin is selling a manifestly incorrect distortion of the constitution, which she invariably gets mixed up with both The Pledge of Allegiance and the song, “America the Beautiful”. Her goal is to create a Christian Nation, where the bible has dominion over the law.
After the historic Nuclear Arms Reduction Treaty signed the previous week between the United States and Russia, the seemingly logical next step was to get as many nations together as possible to be on the same page. The threat of nuclear weapons getting into the wrong hands like al Qaeda or rogue nations like North Korea or Iran, who are currently developing nuclear weapons, should be of grave concern to the entire world.
Former President Bill Clinton was on ABC’s This Week this morning, where he took on the right wing media for its role in spreading threats and violence. Clinton said, “We can disagree with them. We can harshly criticize them. But when we turn them into an object of demonization, you know, you — you increase the number of threats.”
