Democratic grassroots contributors donated $289 million through the online fundraising platform ActBlue during the second quarter of 2021. The group said the news signals a significant level of excitement ahead of next year’s midterm elections.
ActBlue, an online clearinghouse for Democratic donors, reported that they raised $10 million from small donors on Friday, their highest daily total ever since the site was founded.
The nonprofit fundraising group ActBlue announced this week that their fundraising from small donors for the 2018 election cycle is far exceeding their expectations. If they continue to raise money at their current pace then ActBlue could provide Democratic candidates a much-need $1 billion war chest to use in their battle to take back control of Congress this year.
