During the Trump presidency, Republicans had a very slim majority. And they used that majority to push through the things they wanted. Taxes were cut and Supreme Court Justices were placed with no care about bi-partisanship.
For the last 4 years, Republicans had control of the Senate and the White House. They ruthlessly used that power pushing though a big tax cut and 3 Supreme Court justices.
Now that the shoe is on the other foot, though, Republicans are pleading for unity. Joe Biden‘s first major goal is pushing through a COVID-19 stimulus package.
Reid mocked the Republicans, 'It seems House Republicans don't want to be seen discussing even the possibility of compromise with Democrats, for fear that there will be a Tea Party revolt.'
